What’s going on guys? Not open until 2:30PM! From the outside, this place looks pretty ordinary, and blends in well among the corny Irish-style pubs which surround it. Once inside, the atmosphere is transformed and it is more like a traditional English pub with exposed beams etc. Excellent selection of well-made house beers on tap and food is available.

Real ale pub which probably triggered my interest in beer. It tries to be like an English pub with rustic furniture and low ceilings, but its not cosy enough. Being able to see the brewery vats is good and so are the potato wedges.

Laid back, comfy seating, good beers, good selection, decent food. Loved this place!

Such a delight to discover this place in central Canberra on a Monday night! Great range of beer brewed on the premises. Friendly knowledgeable staff. Good, reasonably priced food. A rare place that I could park up for a few beers on my own and not feel out of place. A top spot, almost worth going back to Canberra for (almost).

Small English themed brewpub, complete with false exposed beams in the ceiling and the microbrewery visible behind glass doors. Simple but good value food, a reasonable selection of year-round brews and a revolving door of seasonals and specials. They also have a selection of bottled ciders and occasionally a bottled Belgian menu. The value of the beer is a bit worse than that of the food but in the context of Australian pubs the quality is decent in most cases.

Exceptional selection of home brews. Their regular stout is top of the top, and they always have imaginative and tasty seasonals. I was very impressed by their imperial stout. The staff is always friendly, and the atmosphere is nice and quiet, except for Friday nights, when it can get busy. About the food, I only tried the cheese plater, which was very nice.

Comfortable place with nice English pub atmosphere. Staff was friendly. Kitchen was closed for the Holidays, so never tried the food. Beer was served too cold. Prices were reasonable. Samplers avialble on the 13 taps. The only real let down was the quality of the beer, which fell considerable low of expectations. With a couple of exceptions all the beer is very average. Certainly worth a stop for ticks and it is a pleasent place, but just don’t hope for great beer. I should add that depending on your feellings on ACDC, rating could change significantly. Three hours of nothing but ACDC - at moderate levels- while I was there.

A good selection of beers. The Velvet Cream is great and there is also some experimentation during the year like the Hopidemic and Wobbly Boot which have a fan base. On a thrusday or friday get there by 5 as there usually is a queue to get in. The place does empty of people about 8.30 and then is packed again by 10. They should serve the imperial russian stout in a pint.

Boutique traditional English style pub serving up a dozen ales from hand pumps. A brilliant pub to while away the day (and/or night) to some excellent beers and company. Expect standard pub fare in the way of food, and the service was great all round. Throughout the weekend it was consistently busy but never really felt overcrowded and had a good mix of people chatting and enjoying the brews. The beers are served very well and the general quality is high. The W&P is great value and without any doubt my favorite pub in Oz.

Nice British style pub a few minutes’ walk from ANU we ended up there most nights. Fun range of beers brewed on site, quite good considering. It was a pain to get in on Friday night around 5 or 6 PM, though it cleared out toward 7.
