| bittermestupid (13), Canton, Ohio | | March 7, 2011 Talked to the owner real nice guy very helpful. Good selection, nice little shop will definatly be going back! | | AwYeh (12), Canton, Ohio | | December 21, 2010 Very nice store on Cleveland Avenue, friendly and knowledgeable owners stock a very high quality selection of beer, even if their specialty is wine. A good place to stop in every few weeks to check out regional and seasonal brews, which are usually in stock, along with a number of imports and bottles from AleSmith. | chuckratebeer (7), bedford, Ohio does not count - explanation | | August 23, 2007 Stop by for the dogfish 90 minute and the stone arrogant but don’t expect a huge selection. | | cking (26), North Canton, Ohio | | June 7, 2007 I like to stop in every few weeks and pick up some nice beers. The selection isn’t vast, but they pride themselves on stocking top quality beers. Everytime I shop there the owners are more than happy to discuss their inventory. The prices are slightly higher than the larger markets, but I expect that since they are a small locally owned business, plus they have some beers that I can’t find anywhere else. They also have home brewing supplies and a large selection of wine and cigars. A wonderful little beer store. Hands down my favorite local bottle shop | | harpus (40), birmingham, Alabama | | November 12, 2006 From the outside it does not look like much. They have plenty of parking on the side of the build. They have some beers on the cooler and some not in the cooler. The selection was OK. The onlky six packs that can not be broken are the ones in sealed packs, all other are fair game. If in the area again, would stop by and see what is new. | | Dogbrick (423), Columbus, Ohio | | August 11, 2004 Located on Cleveland Ave in Canton (right on the HOF parade route!), Avenue Wine Shop is easy to miss. It is a quaint house right off the road. There is a tiny parking lot adjacent that probably doesn’t fill up very often.
Inside is very cozy. The bulk of the store is devoted to wine. On the left side are coolers and a couple shelves for beer, and on the right the homebrew and winemaking supplies can be found.
The selection is okay. GLBC, Sierra Nevada, Brooklyn and other micros are available. There is a decent selection of imports as well. All of the 6-packs can be broken into singles which is always nice.
The service here was pleasant on a slow Saturday afternoon. One minor inconvenience is they only accept credit cards for purchases over $15.
All in all the atmosphere and overall quality are better here than Phil’s which is not too far away. The store is not large but they stock a pretty good selection of beer and homebrew supplies. Worth a visit if you are in the downtown Canton area. |
