Nice market, but by no means a beer destination. The ratings here need to calm down -- especially with all of the other bottle shops and bars in the area.

Oh how I love you Tip Top Meats! This rating is more about the food than the beer. Tip Top is a first class butcher shop with a German-style delicatessan and grocery. Lots of imported beer (mostly German) in the grocery. Great selection throughout the grocery and the meat is gorgeous. Make it a point to eat if you come. Great menu (the rabbit is delicious if they have it). Prime Beef on the weekends is not to be missed and a great bargain. If you’re a foodie, this place offers an experience that you won’t forget. Not many places like this still exist in the US.

A great German restaurant, grocer, and butcher. They have approximately 120 beers, with about 80% german, 10% belgian, and 10% UK beers. Extensive selection of german foods as well. Order the Big John Burger Special (fries, drink, 1/2 burger for $5) for lunch (until 8PM) or the Steak and Stein (A huge freshly butchered bacon wrapped high-quality filet minon steak and beer for around $10) The staff isn’t knowledge about beer. The beer selection is OK, unless you like German beers, where the selection is the best anywhere (next to Germany of course).
