| planbee (35), North Carolina | | August 6, 2011 Plenty of parking here. Interior is pretty bland and small but absolutely filled with beer. Lots of cold stuff too. Tight aisles, had to do some contorting to see stuff on bottom shelves. Whoever’s working might look at you when you walk in. When provoked, they’re quite helpful though. I hadn’t been here in years, and I was blown away by the selection. An incredibly well chosen stock with several things that other places don’t carry. Prices are right in line, if not a few cents cheaper than other places on some things, a few cents higher on others. Great stop, and another great store is just a few steps away. | | JCB (120), Durham, North Carolina | | January 26, 2011 If only you could get a nice wedge here! Definitely has the look and feel to set up that expectation, but it’s NC. At least there’s a nice selection of beers and even a burgeoning glassware section. As Ethan suggested, stuff tends to hang around here a bit longer than other places and it’s good to keep TJ’s in the rotation. Well stocked, pretty well maintained, good service and pretty fine selection. | | emacgee (57), Carrboro, North Carolina | | January 24, 2008 [ Updated February 17, 2011 ] TJ’s is a pretty good place to check out. They usually have a few things that other places won’t necessarily have. I love their Interlude policy. Cellar each year and release it when the next years comes out. Lets just say I have a selection of 2006 Interlude at my disposal. | | performula (28), Heart of the Rockies, Colorado | | October 30, 2007 Not a huge slection of beers but nice none the less. Got hit with a .25 charge for using a debit card. I say factor it into the cost of the product. Owner was nice enough to let me park in his gravel lot so I could check out Milltown. Adding service and overall points. | | mhelgason (18), Salem, Oregon | | March 11, 2007 Crappy quick stop with an above average quality beer selection. Nice little store. | | TURDFERGUSON (117), Carrboro, North Carolina | | January 16, 2007 A little quick stop that has started stocking some quality beers. Last time I was in there they had some of the rarer and tougher beers to find still in stock such as Allagash Interlude and Odyssey, Duck Rabbit Barleywine, Baltic Porter and Wee Heavy, and all of the newly arrived Bell’s products. One of my favorite things to do is go to Milltown across the street and spend a lot of money on nice beers there and then leave latenight and go buy some more beer at tj’s. And drink that. Good times. |
