| bootsjohn (13), Texas | | April 11, 2012 As far as beer stores in Dallas area are concerned, Lonestar is in the top tier. There is no finer customer service and rarely a better selection at any area stores. Rick is a consummate professional and does a great job valuing his customers. Recent reorganization has made room for more bottles and presented even better organization. If you find anywhere in Dallas that’s better to buy beer, please tell me! | | jhamp9 (13), Corinth, Texas | | April 1, 2012 Finally made it out here and I’m glad I did. Awesome service and a few things I couldn’t get from my usual places. Great place. | | high_on_hops (11), Missouri | | December 31, 2011 A great selection for it’s location. The building isn’t much to speak of, but they have a great American craft selection in the walk-in fridge. They also have a decent European selection and a knowledgeable staff. Sometimes they keep a few special bottles behind the counter, such as the Stone Green Tea IPA and the Sam Adams Infinium. The owner told me he’s planning to open a store on 7th street in Ft. Worth, which would be welcome since there’s only two or three places there with a decent selection there. | Errl (4), Plano, Texas does not count - explanation | | December 8, 2011 I came here for the BBAWW from Rahr and Sons and I was Quite impressed with their beer selection. The Location is crap and doesn’t look like much from outside. but when you walk in head to the beer freezer and walk in it and they selection of craft brew bottle is top notch. The service was great, the cashier i talked to seemed pretty knowledgeable. We need more Places like this. | | AWMiller (13), Mansfield, Texas | | September 21, 2011 [ Updated October 6, 2011 ] Customer Service starts right when you open the door and long after you have left the shop! Rick runs a top-notch service at LSB and if you can’t find it, don’t leave without asking!! Most likely it’s on the shelf and you didn’t see it or he can get ordered up right quick-like! Be sure to check out the Beer Cave and the craft brew aisle!! | | Dixonian (79), Dallas, Texas | | January 22, 2011 [ Updated February 21, 2011 ] As other reviewers have said, Rick is very friendly and accommodating. On several occasions he’s offered to try and get things I was looking for. The beer cave is greatness and has a pretty good collection. I like their nicely priced glasses as well. | | illinismitty (275), Nashville, Tennessee | | July 24, 2010 One my long time friends brought me here when I was in town for a visit. Looks like a crappy beer/cigarette store from the outside. Don’ t let that fool you, they have a small but quality beer selection, and it’s all stored in a dim walk in cooler. This is the store to buy hoppy beers because of the proper handing and storage. They carry all the regional micros, plus stuff from Stone, Lagunitas, Deschutes, DFH, etc. They had stuff that Mr G’s did not have or was sold out of. Friendly service to boot. | | angrypirate06 (18), Texas | | February 6, 2010 Rick is a very nice guy, and you could tell he works hard trying to get good stuff in. Pretty good selection and nice prices as well. | | thirdeye11 (33), Dallas, Texas | | January 22, 2010 [ Updated August 8, 2011 ] This store is pretty awesome, and given its proximity to other terrible beer stores, it’s certainly the best in a 5 mile radius.
Rick needs to work a little bit on the dominating presence of Bud, Miller, and Coors displays and neon signs, but I understand the motivation as well. You have to sell what sells especially in the neighborhood.
Despite all that, his service is the best in the metroplex. If I need something he is my go to store, and his communication is about as good as it gets. The walk in beer cooler is really cool, nice selection of singles, although I do wish I could break any/all 4/6 packs. The inventory challenges though could become too expensive to manage.
Despite all this, Rick has a pretty damn good selection. Not the largest, but he does focus on the good stuff. A great store in DFW that I have no complaints about. | | Mora2000 (51), Dallas, Texas | | January 17, 2010 Rick and the rest of the staff at Lone Star Beverage are very helpful. This store has a nice selection of beer and wine, with a walk-in cooler for the craft beer. I don’t get over to this store too often but if you are in this part of the Metroplex, Lone Star Beverage is a good place to shop. |
