6 reviews for Total Wine and More - Chantilly
| radagast83 (43), Fairfax, Virginia | | August 21, 2009 Pretty good selection of basic seasonal/micro brews with pretty good prices compared to grocery stores for the more well known beers - inventory rivals the old Springfield location’s selection. Nothing extremely rare, but certainly a good array which you can’t find at some of the more specialized stores because there simply isn’t room. | | OSLO (80), Perth, Australia | | January 30, 2009 [ Updated May 27, 2009 ] FIrst of all, this is THE store to go to in the area for making a mixed 6 pack. They have the better part of an aisle full of singles, and although many are not very good, there are also a decent amount of solid beers, some that are really good, and a few rare ones that I didn’t find anywhere else in the area. The store itself isn’t much to look at, and it feels like a supermarket inside. It is hard to find staff in the beer area sometimes, and nearly impossible to get answers to questions from them. Clearly, the emphasis is on wine with them, or at least those people that I have spoken with. Still, they are not usually rude, and some in the front are pretty nice and talkative. Prices are average to just slightly above average for the area. In short, you may miss out on some of the rarer releases if you go here, and you can’t go expecting to chat beer with the staff, but you can at least get a good mixed 6 pack. | | epf33 (14), Fairfax, Virginia | | February 24, 2008 total wine is my favorite place to shop! only go there for the beer! | | Cobra (23), In a van, down by the river, Maryland | | January 15, 2008 I stop by here from time to time to see what they have in stock. Mostly it’s BMC products, but once in awhile, you can find a real treat tucked back into the beer shelves. It’s geared more towards the pseudo wine snob than anything else. Inattentive staff, indifferent managers. | | obxdude10 (82), Pottstown, Pennsylvania | | June 29, 2005 Was just back there this past weekend (late June ’05) and I must say that the selection had gone downhill from before, service is still pretty decent, the selection of singles is pretty good, but the name change certainly changed the focus of the store, a lot more emphasis on wine and a little less on the beer, reasonably priced bottles, sixers & cases, a very good place to go for beer
| | jeffc666 (86), Fairfax, Virginia | | February 20, 2005 Back in the day these places were called Total Beverage and they had a good to great selection of beer. Well no more. The name changed to Total Wine and so did the emphasis of the store. There are lots of beer but it is a rather uninteresting selection. The good news is that they sell tons of singles. The problem is that their quality is sometimes not so good. It is worth a stop if you are in the neighborhood but dont go out of your way for it. Of the ones in the DC area this location, Chantilly, seems to have the most selection. |
