| CaptainCougar (139), Rockville, Maryland | | June 14, 2009 Stopped in on my way to Sexual Chocolate Day 2008: Nice a large store, but most of it was beer with a good selection of imports and locals. I remember picking up some Hopslam here along with some good Fantomes. The owner even let me pick out a free glass and I don’t think my order was even that much. Prices were a little better than average. Overall a pretty nice store. | | hargettfamily (12), charlotte, North Carolina | | June 12, 2009 In the top three best places in town for selection.
| doboy (8), Morehead City, North Carolina does not count - explanation | | May 18, 2009 Tucked away in Center Charlotte, it gave the ole Garmin a workout! Worth the trip! Great Selection with a cooler. Everything I wanted, some that I mdesired, others that I had dreamed of. Prices were good. This was the end of my Trifecta Pilgrimage thru Sam’s in Durham, Brusin Ales in Asheville, and here. It was a great way to round out the trip! | | CheersMate1 (34), Atlanta, Georgia | | April 25, 2009 This place is amazing. After going out to the West Coast, I thought I had found a place where my beer heart would be forever. Now, it is at Brawleys. Michael, the guy who runs the place is EXTREMELY nice. He will talk about beer with you ALL DAY. Thing about this place is is that you should know what you want before you go. What I mean is have a list in your head of what you would like to get here, and let him know. Some things are "hidden" and must be requested. That is a good thing in my opinion because people who LOVE beer should be treated accordingly. For just some schmuck to walk in this place and deplete the great beers that they have is ridiculous. Prices were not out of whack, so I don’t see what the complaint(s) is about that. He threw in a free beer for my bro and I, and he threw in a free glass for spending what we spent. All in all, you are an idiot to bypass this place if you are in North Carolina. For those of you in Georgia, make the day trip to this place and you WON’T regre | | nick76 (76), Tampa, Florida | | January 8, 2009 [ Updated May 10, 2009 ] Wow. I was totally amazed at the selection in this modest, unassuming beer and wine shop. The place is not attractive inside or out to be totally honest but it more than makes up for it in the world class selection of beers. Everything from Belgian imports to local craft brews. The service is what you would expect from a place that has a selection like this. They treat their big accounts and return customers with special perks! The staff is beer savvy too. I do have two complaints, the first is that they don’t separate most of their six packs. With a craft beer customer base I can’t understand this. Also, the prices are high. If your in town you MUST stop in you will find something you want. | | DrDavid (20), Johnson, Vermont | | January 5, 2009 A fairly small store, but a great selection of regionals and imports. Mike is about as friendly and knowledgeable as he could be, completely willing to gab at length about all things beer. And he is not shy to offer suggestions and opinions, both about what to buy and what to avoid. A wonderful guy who knows his beer. Prices are ok, and he insisted on including a free glass at the end. Brawleys is a must-stop in the Charlotte area. | PureEvilHops (1), , North Carolina does not count - explanation | | October 27, 2008 Mike knows beer, and will help you sort through his selections. He’s always on top of whats available, and makes sure he gets his fair share.
Don’t mess around, just go to Brawleys | | barleyPops (58), Quad-Cities, Illinois | | September 25, 2008 almost drove by this place even though we were looking for it. excellent, friendly service with both Illini08 and myself getting a free glass. the place was steadily busy the entire time we browsed around. worth a visit if you’re in Charlotte. | | Suttree (86), Knoxville, Tennessee | | August 25, 2008 Very cool little converted gas station - easy to miss if you aren’t specifically looking for it. Great selection and the owner was very enthusiastic and eager to help. Really nice place. | | nqualls (35), Nashville, Tennessee | | August 13, 2008 [ Updated September 16, 2008 ] The owner was in when I stopped by (and his dog). The selection of beer was excellent. The service was top notch. The owner had an in depth knowledge (i.e. beer geek) of the beer in his store, and beer in general. Had some great recommendations. The free glass at the end was a definate plus. I will visit this place any time I’m around charlottle. A+ |
