| bmerz (61), New York | | May 2, 2012 A restaurant foremost, a spacious sprawling one that doesn’t feel like a pizza joint really. It’s vaguely italian but more southern. The pizza I had (Demeter) was really good and the wings were awesome, all really well priced. So was the beer. The tap selection entirely American and mostly southern or midwestern. Local pints particularly of NoDa abound. Excellent service cemented this as my best Charlotte beer experience so far. | | LilBeerDoctor (185), East Setauket, New York | | November 22, 2011 Great bar in NoDa. I was here on a crowded Friday night as well as a sleepy Saturday morning. It is a smallish bar located in an old house with outdoor seating on a porch. The bar itself is somewhat small and there are tables scattered throughout. The beer list is phenomenal (at least for the area) - tons of taps. About half the taps are North Carolina beers (and the most extensive list of NC beers I’ve seen, including smaller lesser known places - there is Foothills, Greenman, NoDa, Nantahala, Olde Hickory, Big Boss, Four Friends, Red Oak, OMB, LoneRider, Catawba, Duck Rabbit). Even the out-of-state list was pretty good - nothing crazy, but just solid beers (Chouffe, Sierra Nevada, Terrapin, Bells, Green Flash, etc). Prices varied from $5.00-7.50 depending on the beer, with $3 specials each week. Half pints also available. The only food I tried was the homemade potato chips which were pretty good. Overall, the tap list is hard to beat elsewhere in the city, so this place is highly recommended. | | Travlr (637), Washington, Washington DC | | October 9, 2011 Great space in a large old house with a wrap around porch one floor up, a great place to watch the sunset. Beer list is large and the pizza is good. Friendly and efficient service. Great place. | | NachlamSie (357), Tennessee | | April 6, 2011 Revolution Pizza is in an attractive historic house with a nice patio and cozy seating inside as well. The tap list is very impressive with huge emphasis on NC beers, as in there were two SC beers and the entire rest of the list was North Carolinian in origin. There are plenty of offerings from breweries that just don’t make it to many places this far out west, e.g. Aviator, Fullsteam, Good Vibes, etc. We were here during lunch time on a Sunday and it was not very busy. The service was very personable and smart but unnecessarily slow. The pizzas are very high quality and the topping list is anything but boring. I had a truly delicious pie with pulled pork, county ham, smoked cheese and other assorted goodness. The lady’s pizza could have been equally delicious, however it arrived to the table very burned. Our server gladly took it off the bill and apologized. We had a great time and I’d love to return. If we had more prompt service and two properly cooked pizzas, this stop would have been absolutely excellent. | tallboy2 (8), Charlotte, North Carolina does not count - explanation | | June 17, 2010 I had a lot of hope for this place, but it fell a bit short. Draught selection is usually very good and will feature some hard to find beers. The kegs seem not to rotate frequently enough, though, so the beer is sometimes less than fresh--really long draught lines don’t help either. Food is okay. A long drive coupled with an uncertainty regarding freshness keep me from visiting frequently. | | czh (10), Charlotte, | | December 9, 2009 Good food, good beer selection. Loved the outdoor patio. Best place to drink beer in NoDa. | gwkhiatt (3), does not count - explanation | | October 25, 2009 Pizza is fabulous and so is all on the menu--including fresh made gelato. But the Beer is why you go. Amazing selections. Great variety. Had two Founders cask conditioned ales for their anniversary and they always have a nice set of rotators. Oh and 90 minute on tap--always. |
