The PEILCC on Queen Street is the best-located one in the city if you’re staying downtown. It’s fairly small, though, and the selection is basically Canadian macros when it comes to beer. However, you can find the meads from Rossignol and Honeydew, as well as the Rossignol Iced Blossom. Those are the real finds here, as no other beers are really worth picking up. Gahan House is now bottling the Honey Wheat and Island Red, though, and those can be found. Just nothing interesting from outside of the island. Service is very, very helpful and friendly.

Uhh, yeah. Perhaps when Todd visited, at the height of summer, they were better stocked, but when I visited (May 2007) there was literally nothing but macros in 12-packs. That’s it. And they were out of the Rossignol stuff, or at least the incompetent clerk couldn’t find it. I doubt I’d go back to the island again so early anyway (not enough open to do) but if I did I wouldn’t bother visiting this place.

I’ve entered this liquor store in the database as its close to most of the major downtown hotels --- though the selection doesn’t vary all that much on the island. Most of the major labels are represented here along with the "rarer" Maritime Brewing (Sleeman) Black Pearl et al. After talking with Trent and Craig at Gahan House, I suspect that most of the local LCCs will be carrying the more popular Gahan brews in Spring 2007. Other available rarities are the Rossignol Ciders and Meads (~$14/375ml).

P.S. Their bottle listing is available online. Call ahead and have them order/set-aside your desired beers to avoid disappointment!

Scene
Right around the corner from Gahan House. A place of convenience as most PEILCC have similar stock.

Staff
Little need for beer knowledge --- not much beer.
