ccex (5), Chicago, Illinois does not count - explanation | | May 1, 2012 I’ve shopped many times at Binny’s in Plainfield, Lincoln Park, and Hyde Park before checking out this large store today. Great selection and decent prices. Parking was easy and free on a weekday afternoon, and the escalators helped, too. I spent $80 including tax for 4 bombers and 3 six packs, including some I had never seen anywhere else. There were many more items with reduced prices to Binny’s cardholders here than I’ve seen at their other stores.I spotted perhaps my all=time favorite Schneider Aventinus Weisen Eisbock and had to wait a while before finding an employee to ask if they had any other Eisbocks in stock. He didn’t know what I was talking about, but said that a beer expert from downstairs would help me. Finally an idle cashier came over and asked if she could help. She typed "Eisbock" into their system and found 4 others, only one of which was in stock. She went right to the cooler and handed it to me. I bought it even though it was Red Hook ESB and not an Eisbock. I’ll definitely make the trek back here for the greater selection and lower prices than the small Binny’s in Hyde Park. | funkyaudio (8), Chicago, Illinois does not count - explanation | | April 23, 2012 Good beer at a great location inside a beer store who could ask for anything else. | jstraw (8), Chicago, Illinois does not count - explanation | | March 29, 2012 Outstanding selection, including foreign beers and especially Belgians. The selection does seem to be especially thoughtful, more a stocking of all the greatest hits, but still, a great resource. | | chicagodri (58), Chicago, Illinois | | November 26, 2011 Good selection, fair price. Parking can be a pain at times. Better selection than the Lincoln Park Binnys. Which you could walk around and drink though. Bar is very nice when it is open. | | jrallen34 (207), Chicago, Illinois | | November 6, 2011 huge beer selection here, a bit intimidated at first, by the far the best Binny’s in Chicago with not only a ton of beer, but things that are not at the other stores... a bit too far away from me to go to often but worth the trip | | needaloan (11), Illinois | | October 28, 2011 the BEERS selection is huge, great service and the price is AWESOME.
My go to shop. | | JoePeesie (63), Long Lake, Illinois | | September 20, 2011 One of the best selections of beer in the area, solid pricing, and with an on site tap room it is a must hit if your in the area. | | cgarvieuk (96), Edinburgh , Scotland | | August 25, 2011 DLD 09 ... WOW just WOW huge range. But boy was i pissed off. couldnt split 6 packs(seems to be all of Chicago), so it was Bomber or Six packs which was real annoying as i wanted to bring back as many beers as i could (all told i managed 29 btls home) Staff were not the friendliest though. But for a Local shop it would be GREAT | | msante79 (253), Mount Prospect, Illinois | | July 19, 2011 Huge Binnys with small bar that had several taps. Very nice selection but not the truly special selection I remember it once having. Still probably the best liquor store in the city when it comes to quanity and quality. Doesn’t have some of the rare gems you can find at wlv liquors from time to time, but who does. Tap room is nice but there plenty of other places in the area I would rather have a drink though. | | bittermestupid (13), Canton, Ohio | | May 5, 2011 What a cool experience the only bottle shop I have ever been to that has an escalator. Unbelievable selection some rare stuff including Brewdog Atlantic IPA. The shop and it’s employees were nice and helpful. Until I went to check out the female cashier was quite rude and impatient. One would think when a custmer spends $150 that the cashier would not mind someone paying with cash. She did not like me counting my cash before I handed it to her. Other than her this was good time and a excellent place to buy beer. |
