25 reviews for Binny’s Beverage Depot (Downtown)
| chicagodri (36), Chicago, Illinois | | October 17, 2009 This Binny’s has a decent selection, but unless you are in the area I would go to Sam’s on Clybourne or the Binny’s in the South Loop that is much much bigger with a better selection and a bar. At least they have a parking lot, but this store in general is small compared to some of the other things in this area. | | PilsnerPeter (95), Flushing, New York | | August 25, 2009 I came here after the huge Binnys (South Loop) and was underwhelmed. They have not even 5% of the selection of the South Loop location. This location is geared more towards wines and liquors. They also don’t have a tap selection here. Prices were fair, but the selection was feeble compared to the South Loop location. This is a decent store just to grab a sixer of quality craft. | | downender (116), Bristol, England | | March 21, 2009 Within walking distance from my downtown hotel, which was a godsend. Staff on the tills were friendly and there was an interesting selection of beer packed into one corner of the store, although with virtually no singles on offer. Would visit again. | | kseecs16 (139), Naperville, Illinois | | August 21, 2008 Different layout than most of your other Binny’s and the beer section is a little tight. Nice deli area. Its a Binny’s typical selection for them. Parking lot is small, but hey at least its there. Staff does not go out of their way to be helpful. | IlanMan (7), Appleton, Wisconsin does not count - explanation | | August 13, 2008 This place definitely has the selection of brews. There are 3 long shelves of brews. I think I might make an estimated guess of there being between 800 and 1000 different beers. I found a lot of great brews here but I would still like to see even more top notch beers. Great place. A definite must visit. | | pintsize (18), Austin, Texas | | May 29, 2008 This was a nice stop for us while in Chicago. The selection of beer wasn’t stellar (and not many singles were available) and majority is wine (what else is new). However, selection in another state’s beer store is always going to be somewhat exciting (especially if you are from Texas) and lucky me - we picked up a Pizza Beer - yum. The staff were nice enough - they even helped customers out to their cars and gave hints on local hot spots to hit as well. | | kyzr (18), Belgrade, Montana | | May 23, 2008 Worked in a pinch on my last day. Found 12 new bottles and a styro shipper here. Nothing over the top and out of the ordinary. Works for being right down town and walking distance to a fedex kinkos. | | lb4lb (25), Austin, Texas | | May 2, 2008 The beer selection wasn’t too big, but for a Texan, there still were quite a few new local beers to try. Most beers were sold only in 6 packs, unfortunately, but there were some bombers and others for sale as singles. Picked up a Pizza Beer, and some other random goodies while in, and it helped that it was in walking distance from the HoJo Downtown, where we were staying. | | crizay (104), Brook Park (was Tampa,FL), Ohio | | April 29, 2008 Nice selection nothing huge but decent. A few beer’s I can’t find in Ohio but not much. Big wine selection seems to be there thing along with the food. Not much to say other than if your close go there, if not maybe theres a store with a bigger selection. | | Walt (185), Chicago, Illinois | | March 23, 2008 Great selection...belgians galore!!! Awesome cheese section too! |
