| justinwmaynard (10), Chicago, Illinois | | January 28, 2012 Laschet’s Inn is a nice German bar that serves excellent beers on draft. Their food has been better the past few years, but I am particularly interested in what they pour. Nice staff, fair pricing... I like! | | troyc (147), Oklahoma | | January 1, 2011 I stopped by Laschet’s Inn after visiting Resi’s across the street. The beer selection is pretty similar, with a couple of different German taps. The place was crowded and the food looked pretty good, but I didn’t try any. I enjoyed my time here and I’ll likely be back. | | adnielsen (277), Fort Collins, Colorado | | October 22, 2010 Very cool German pub in North Chicago. A pretty decent selection of German beer on tap and great food. | mariano42 (5), St. Johnsbury, Vermont does not count - explanation | | May 5, 2010 What can I say but this place is awesome. It is one of the great Chicago neighborhood bars and it is also a top German beer destination and it also has crazy good German food. The owners are in there hanging out all the time and are a very nice couple.
SEEK this place out | | Frank (50), Chicago, Illinois | | February 8, 2010 This is a nice place to get German food and a beer but it’s not really going to excite the beer geeks out their as far as beer selection. It is all German and stuff that is for the most part easy to find in bottles. To me, it is nice to try some of these beers in something close to their native context. There is something special about sitting back and enjoying a full liter of lager w/ some very good German food. There are very few places besides here and Resi’s in town who have a selection of this type of beer and can move it fast enough that it is consistently fresh. Worth a trip for the food and to relax but not at all the place to go to if you are in from out of town and looking to wrack up some ratings of beers you can’t get elsewhere, even if they will taste better here than anywhere else. Oh, and don’t leave this place, w/o trying a pretzel. | | 3fourths (962), Boulder, Colorado | | January 6, 2010 blue-collar, noisy, dirty. lots of beer but little to get excited about, unless you really love warsteiner and paulaner. | elduderinoLS (4), , Illinois does not count - explanation | | June 14, 2009 As authentic German as you can score in Chicago. Great German selection, always try a pretzel (puts most to absolute shame) and get the rouladen. | | kseecs16 (184), Naperville, Illinois | | January 7, 2008 Laschet’s is a great german restaurant, their beer selection is nothing amazing but contains some solid German brews on draught and in the bottle, plus two Chimay beers. Their beer list is on their webstie, but its level of updating is questionable. Last time I was in they were out of a few listed offerings. Great classic german food, slightly limited selection. Awesome old world ambience right across the street from Resi’s. | | NobleSquirrel (161), Chicago, Illinois | | July 3, 2007 As far as traditional German fare goes, coupled with excellent beer, this is nice. Better than Resi’s, in my opinion, as the beer is at a fairer price, $10/liter for anything on tap. The food is also a bit more reasonable, though comparable. I think the food here is actually better than any other German place in Chicago. But nice. Very good and excellent people who are friendly. |
