I’ve heard great things about this place for awhile so finally walked the mile and half up there, at too busy of an intersection, actually a bit tough to get too... the ambiance is a throw back to craft beer bars of 10 years ago, dirty and old, and full of people who just liked beer to be cool and trendy, a couple small tvs and a band room where someone was playing... 3 chalk boards show their drafts, roughly 20 beers, nice selection of locals and hard to find stuff (including $6 pours of Angel’s Share, the best Angel Share version I’ve ever had), a huge ticker’s dream chalk board lists beers from each country they have (Including not see easy to tick places like Costa Rica, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Greece, Croatia, and Slovakia)... service was meh, the bartender was quick to arrive but knew very little of beer, and had no idea what Cantillon was despite having several bottles listed on their bottle list... food wise, after bad reviews on here, and seeing food there I didn’t try it(look disgusting) but they did have some overly salted popcorn to munch on...not a fan of the this older hipster wannabe crowd but I would come back... As a side they are CASH ONLY so come prepared

Quenchers definitely has one of the largest beer selections in Chicago. While tap selections are generally very good, having so many things in bottles means that many are not very good. Cool old-timey wood coolers with glass doors. Live music/comedy/open mics every night. The bar is separate if you don’t want to participate. Bar tenders are usually knowledgeable and accommodating. Food, when I’ve had it, has not been memorable. Cheap, though, so I’ll give ’em that. A little grimy with colorful people watching and a ton of beer makes Quenchers a great place to stop.

seperated into two rooms, one of which houses a band and the other a short bar with a right angle. pretty long tap list and longer bottle list, easy to read large chalkboards list all the taps and bottles with bottles broken down by country (with the USA being the longest and getting its own board). talkative bartender offered me the newest stuff he had and seemed to know what was happening. you wont get killed on a saturday night and acoustics from the room next door are enough under control so you dont go mad at the bar.

Wound up here when they wouldn’t let me into Map Room. Interesting enough lay out, though a bit odd. Pretty high quality tap list that is pretty extensive. They do keep them fresh, though I wasn’t a huge fan of the crowd, but oh well. I’ll have to check it out again in the future.

One of my favorite places to have a beer. For the past year or so they have done an excellent job rotating the taps and have added a significant amount of bomber bottles. If your into variety, they have it, if your into quality taps, they have it. Word around the street is that they are adding even more taps, which means more reasons to stop in.

I love the atmosphere here, great live music, decent eats. The beer list is pretty big, though there arent really any super special beers, though there are many countries represented. A good place to hang out with friends.

one of Chicago’s hidden gems...best selection I’ve seen, behind Map Room and Hopleaf, but less busy and less yuppie...long list of beers, from many, many countries...juke box has good songs, and other patrons have good taste...photo booth is fun

This place is nice. They have beer catagorized by the country so you could pretty much take a beer trip around the word. Diffrent beers than the usual belgium, german, american micros. Maproom still kicks this places ass!

A great selection of beers on tap as well as in bottle and opposed to the maproom in chicago, you can actuallly walk around without getting stepped on or getting beer spilled on you. With a side room for music it is pretty perfect. They don’t have the greatest selection when it comes to food, but they do have free popcorn. They also have water cooler where you can get water as you wish instead of embarrasingly asking for it at the bar. It’s nice to go to a place where they actually want you to enjoy the drinks instead of allowing you to walk away puking.

I have a bit of a biased to this place as it is my neighborhood bar. The selection is no Maproom and the ambience is pretty standard but for a bar within stumbling distance I can’t complain. The food is excellent "bar food" type food and affordable (the nachos kinda suck though). The beer selection is good an is always changning. They recently started having live music and live band kareoke that is a blast! Good place for good times.
