I liked this place and recommend going out of the way for it. It was fairly busy on an ordinary weeknight, yet we were still able to get a nice table and great service. Though not fancy, the bar is a lovely three sided affair, and several tables are lined up differently to get some privacy. People were hanging out outside. The ceiling had unusual beautiful tiling. Some great guest taps, which only enhance the 60’s environment of sharing. Their own brews were very good Good bottle selection. I understand the food is pretty good, and superior to the other bars.Music was pretty loud

First visit, tried all ten House brews. They ranged from good to excellent, really impressive range from a light ale, to a wit and saison, a couple ipas, two porters, and 2 bourbon aged beers. Outstanding. The place is sharp the staff are nice.

Revolution Brewpub is an excellent experience. The bar and eating areas on the first floor are layed out perfectly. Their upstairs area is very nice as well. The staff is always friendly, and their food and beer is some of the best I’ve ever had at a pub. One of my top three favorites in Chicago!

Good view of the small brewing are from any seat in the house, and the brewer was hard at work. They serve guest beers in addition to their own stuff, a big plus in my book. 5 ounce samplers are only available for the house beers, $2 each, but the bartender was generous with samples of the other brews. Food was very good, beers were top notch. Worth a look for sure.

Large central oval bar with fists carved out of dark wood. Beautiful, upscale, and clean...definitely a spot your wife will be okay visiting. Oh, the beer! Truly, some of the best barrel-aged house brews I have ever had. Dark, rich, tons of oak and vanilla. Delicious! Food here is outstanding also. Wings are to die for and come with a horseradish potato salad and celery curled high on top. Bartender was friendly and seemed really proud of the beers they crafted. Great place...need something like this in AZ.

Visited here on Dec. 29, 2011. Tremendous spot! About a dozen house brews (which were excellent) and a few other guest taps. Extremely friendly and knowledgable waiter. Flights/samples available at $2/5 oz pour, which is great. Tried the margarita pizza and the cheddar ale soup - both were fantastic. I love this place.

Revolution has become one of the best brewpubs to visit in Chicago. Above average food, great guest taps and bottle list, and Revolution’s own beers are nothing to scoff at. I really enjoy the decor inside the place, with a beautiful bar in the center of the brewpub. Prices on beer are more than fair, with the food being decently priced for the quality (I have eaten here many times, and when the food is on, it is great, but the kitchen is a bit inconsistent). The bartenders and servers are always very polite and do their jobs well. Overall, if you are headed to Chicago, Revolution has become a must-visit.

First stop on my beer trip through Chicago. Made the mistake of coming on a friday night, I probably would have liked it more during the afternoon. Extremely crowed, and we were lucky to find a seat at the bar. I really like the tap handles and other fist wood carvings throughout. The beer was average from the 6 I sampled, and the food was decent. Like I said, I would have been much happier "beer geeking-out" in the afternoon without such an obnoxious crowd. If I’m ever in the area, I will give it anther try.

Large oval central bar with tables around the periphery, kitchen and brewery towards the back. High ceilings. Very loud at times which seems to be the standard for many brewpubs. Crowd eclectic but tending toward the twenty-somethings. Nice selection of beers including lighter and more traditional styles as well as higher ABV and barrel-aged. Service quick and friendly. I had the Reuben with fries that was very good. Not cheap and they don’t give you much of the barrel-aged for what you pay but value is probably on a par with other brewpubs in Chicago.
