2014: Moved to Roscoe Village, 1636 W Belmont, just west of Lincoln/Belmont/Ashland.
2013: Added coffee bar and lounge area.
2011: Vrai Amour is an essential neighborhood shop for the DePaul area, family-owned by a father & son team who champion craft beer. Itís a small place that has slowly grown over the last couple years. Patronizing small, independent businesses keeps money in the neighborhood and sustains the local economy. Support your local neighborhood bottle shop, not hard to figure out... unless youíre a giant beerdouche.
2010: 100+ singles and counting....
Bells gear and glassware now available...focus on MI craft beer. Monthly beer tastings, friendly service. Check it out if youíre heading to Local Option!
This is a small wine shop that carries specialty beers, tucked into the neighborhood near DePaul next to a couple bars. They had a Bells poster in the window, and a signboard that mentioned micro beer, so I checked it out.
The beer selection is available as singles, and you can mix-a-six here, which is nice. There were two cooler doors in the back, with another empty cooler next to it. There were 10 varieties of Bells, which was the most from one brewery. There were about 4 Three Floyds, assorted singles from several MI brewers like Founders, New Holland, and Arcadia. The owners are from Michigan, and this shows in their beer selection. They rotate a selection of seasonals, and there were about 10 or so Christmas beers to choose from, including Alpha Klaus, GLBC Christmas Ale, Samichlaus, Delirium Noel, and others. Overall the selection was modest, but an interesting selection of US micro singles, and a handful of token Belgians and imports.
Service was really great, we talked beer for quite awhile, and they were very knowledgeable about the beer they carried. In addition, they had a shelf of unique glassware, even a couple branded boots at the register. Worth a stop if youre in the area at Local Option or Smallbar Fullerton, but not so much a destination in itself.

Two blocks from LO it was worth stopping by this place. First of all the owner was decked out in Michigan gear across from an OSU bar so not cool. Anyway, he followed me around like a little pup, quite annoying, especially giving input that wasnít remotely needed... As advertised they have 90ish mostly easy to find midwestern craft singles that they do as singles or mixed 6 packs. All this stuff can be found at any decent beer store. No need to visit this place unless youíre an out of town ticker who wants to pick up 30 different singles to tick... Huge pass for locals though.
