2 reviews for Bigg’s-Hyde Park
| phaleslu (86), Cincinnati, Ohio | | July 1, 2009 Nothing you can’t find at most other Cincinnati-area supermarkets, but seems to have a little more than the typical Kroger or Bigg’s. Still not nearly as good as the little IGA in Clifton. In addition to the usuals, you can find some of the regional brews, like Great Lakes, Moerlein, and Mt. Carmel. Some other more well-known microbreweries from around the country, like Dogfish Head, Goose Island, and Brooklyn. Prices are okay. | | foundmd (14), Cincinnati, Ohio | | March 8, 2009 [ Updated July 12, 2009 ] Bigg’s is a Cincinnati grocery store chain similar to Kroger. This location in the Oakley/Hyde Park area has the best beer selection of the 11 Bigg’s locations. As is to be expected, a large part of the selection is devoted to macros. But look for the micro-brews sign in the wine section, and you’ll find a surprisingly good variety of craft beers, many available as reasonably priced singles. Bells, Dogfish Head, Great Lakes, Mt. Carmel, Stone, and Victory are available along side common Belgian’s like Delirium and St. Bernardus. In the cooler there’s also a modest selection of seasonal beers. Freshness can be an issue, so check the dates when possible. This is one of the better grocery stores in the area, so if you find yourself shopping there, check out the beer for a one-stop shopping experience. |
