| NachlamSie (357), Tennessee | | May 19, 2012 This is the oddest beer store I have ever seen. To purchase beer to go I had to approach a large open window storefront on the sidewalk like a vendor’s stand. Here was hundreds of empty bottles in sight representing their selection. The salesman was very knowledgeable and helpful. All beer is stored in a walk-in cooler which is retrieved upon ordering. The selection is staggering with dozens of beers I wanted. Adjacent to this shop is the bar with 6 quality taps and the huge bottle selection. It’s quite small and intimate. Growlers are available on this side. Fantastic selection, outstanding service, and a pleasantly odd concept. | | b3shine (12), Cincinnati, Ohio | | March 5, 2012 Let me begin by saying if you want an equal opportunity to get every small release beer without having to make a place your home base, go to Party Source. Dutch’s is a neighborhood bar and bottle shop - and the best in the business. The staff and management are fantastic. They’re great to everyone and take superb care of their regulars. Also, they charged the EXACT same amount for Founders CBS as the brewery did at it’s release party, so you can rest assured you’re getting good prices. This place is the best spot in town. Don’t take my word for it; read everyone else’s reviews.
| | Drewsky (12), Cincinnati, Ohio | | February 15, 2012 By far the best selection in the city of Cincinnati!! The guys really seem to know there beer here. Always go there for the beer you just can’t seem to find. | | Chudwick (47), Taylor Mill (KY), France | | December 18, 2011 considering this is Ohio and they have an ABV limit, this place had a nice selection. The bartender at hand was knowledgeable, but a little antagonistic about college sports teams from Kentucky. For an urban setting, the pricing was reasonable. Ambiance was a little snobbish (wine-folk) but friendly nonetheless. I’d love to go back but this time with a game plan. | | AndyReynolds (42), Wilder, Kentucky | | October 24, 2011 This place is great, knowledgable staff, super friendly, and very helpful. the prices are average. It is really a store and a bar. The walk up storefront is great, but a tad overwhelming. The bar is modern and sharp. Good environment. | | foundmd (26), Cincinnati, Ohio | | October 12, 2011 Dutch’s has become one of the best beer bars in the city. While the selection is by no means limitless, they seem to care about what they serve to their customers. Their 8 taps rotate regularly and are always served in the proper glassware, and at a fair price. The have special beer tappings on a regular basis. The bar is a great but so is the outdoor patio area complete with a bocce ball court. The other great thing about Dutch’s is the fantastic selection of bottles to go. Just walk up on the sidewalk and choose whatever you’d like. Parking can be a bit of pain, but it’s well worth it to make Dutch’s a regular stop for great beer in Cincinnati. | | alexsdad06 (13), Ohio | | September 18, 2011 This used to be one of the little known stops to pick up beers that were selling out at other places in the city. Since they added the bar and outdoor patio, this has become a frequent stop for our regular gathering. The bar offers eight rotating taps that focus only on craft beer. Any bottle they carry is also available for on site consumption. They employees know about and appreciate craft beer. The patio is a nice touch in the late summer/early fall. I give them extra marks because they are always looking to make a good thing even better. | | jrallen34 (207), Chicago, Illinois | | August 28, 2011 Interesting set up, but not a fan of it. Empty bottles line the sidewalk, they either filled with rocks or faded by the sun, ugly. A decent selection of stuff, I was shocked to see Tallgrass tallboys and Rockmill bombers. Service was good, the guy knew his stuff but he was a bit overly nice. | | DrSilverworm (13), Cincinnati, Ohio | | July 7, 2011 [ Updated May 8, 2012 ] My new favorite place for craft beer. Previously, I only knew of Jungle Jim’s and The Party Source to satisfy my single bottle fix, but who knew that Dutch’s -- a place the tinier than a streetside gyro stand, had just as big as a selection? Ranger Bob, the employee working there who was as friendly, personal, and helpful as possible, claimed there were often more than SIX HUNDRED single bottles to choose from. Better yet, they don’t mark up their prices over retail for single bottles whatsoever! They literally take the cost of a 6-pack, divide by 6, and THAT is what you pay for a single bottle! No dedicated parking, but parking on the street wasn’t even remotely a problem at 3PM on a Thursday. I was so close to the storefront, Ranger Bob was asking me questions about the stickers on the back of my VW. Forget those big lot specialty stores, Dutch’s is my preferred new destination for craft brew in Cincinnati. Edit: With the larder now open, Dutch’s now also sells exotic cuts of meats and cheeses. The larder is equipped with a full kitchen, and makes incredible entres that can also be enjoyed while in the bar or on the patio. All the food is phenomenal. | | phaleslu (241), Saint Louis, Missouri | | February 6, 2011 [ Updated May 16, 2011 ] Dutch’s is located on Erie in the busy Hyde Park Neighborhood of Cincinnati. It traditionally was a small-ish wine and beer shop but recently added a bar and tasting room. There are 8 taps with a pretty nice selection; I opted for a Brooklyn Cuvee Noire and my buddy got Jolly Pumpkin Bam Biere. There isn’t a whole lot of room in the bar area, so it was pretty packed on a Saturday night. I guess that means business is going well. The staff is friendly and pretty knowledgeable. I’ve been meaning to come in here for a long time and never did before I left Cincy, so I was happy to stop in on a weekend visit. I’ll be looking to come back again, as I’ve heard nothing but good things about their hospitality to RBers and beer buyers in general. |
