dwyerpg (7), Las Vegas, Nevada does not count - explanation | | May 14, 2012 Didn’t eat. Beer prices were fair. Sample set included the seasonal which was nice. Place appears to try to introduce some beer to folks in Clarksville but I didn’t see anything else craft on their menu besides their own beers. Okay. | | TheRealMGD (54), Lakewood, Washington | | September 12, 2011 Visits in Jan and May ’11 (and used to come here often when it was C’ville pub back in the early 90s). Ambiance is good but nothing special. The only interesting selections are their own brews, which are pretty average. Food is pretty standard pub fare and service is good but not very knowledgeable. I’ll probably come back because it’s about the only place to get decent beer in Clarksville, but couldn’t recommend it to a serious pub adventurer. | | Bif (32), St. Louis, Missouri | | August 2, 2010 [ Updated August 25, 2011 ] I stopped by the Blackhorse Pub & Brewery the first time, as the pizza was rated best in the area. Which I can agree with. The rest of their menu is not bad either. It is a very comfortable pub in the downtown area of Clarksville. Parking can be a challange at times. They have a good selections of beers on tap. I enjoyed the Barnstormer Red & Coal Miner Stout best. The bartenders & servers are friendly and seem to be very knowledgable on the brews. Great place to relax, enjoy a brew and share a conversation. I make an effort to stop by when ever I am in the area working.
| | lithy (156), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania | | July 28, 2009 Had a great patty melt, helped my drunk ass back to recovery. Sampled all their beers after a long day, but even with a busted palate they didn’t seem so good... Relatively out of the way but if you are in historic Clarksville, it might be a nice stop. It was packed which I like to see. | | grimreeser (14), Minnesota | | December 24, 2007 Decent place. Nice decor, looked clean and inviting, service was average. Ordered the sampler, the stout was decent, the rest seemed subpar. I didn’t try the food myself, but the family says the food is very good, and the dishes I saw looked pretty good. Not a bad place in a town with few good beer options. | | Optigon (41), Bloomington, Indiana | | January 16, 2007 A decent brewpub. The beer, in my opinion, wasn’t that interesting. Really good beer-cheese soup. | | BeerHawk (52), Huntsville, Alabama | | October 9, 2005 When I was stationed at Fort Campbell and before my rating days, my friends and I used to frequent this place to get away from all the macro bars. I was at the base this weekend and decided to slide in for a few drafts and a meal. A quiet Saturday afternoon so it was not that crowded. Just a bunch of people catching collage football on the many TV’s, low noise, and good music. The bar area is not huge but has that old Irish feel to it. Very relaxing and comfortable. Large seating area for food. Up stairs there is a large room with another bar that can be rented out for parties. On this visit they had 7 on tap, 5 regulars and 2 seasonals. Nothing super special about their beer. They do offer growlers, 1/4 and 1/2 barrel kegs to go. Large food menu with reasonable pricing. Service was good and knowledgeable. |
