| UDBeernut (53), Saugerties, New York | | March 1, 2012 Great atmospehere, decent size bar with many smaller tables surrounding. Crowd was mostly younger, but a fair amount of "mature" people there
Selection was excellent. Have a cooler with what appeared to be close to 300 different bottles. Several beers on tap, but I mostly stuck with bottles. Everything was poured into the proper glassware, very impressive.
Not a food place really, did offer snack foods, cheese plate, brie, etc. Better go elsewhere if you are looking for a meal.
Deffiantly worth a visit. Top 3 Beer Bar in Cleveland.
| | miketd (112), Cleveland, Ohio | | February 21, 2012 Cool place in a fairly trendy area. Could be a bit hard to find, located through a small door and down a flight of steps. Dark interior with dim lighting make the place feel cozy. Decent selection of beer, but the few times I’ve been here there hasn’t been anything too special. Waitstaff is helpful and fairly knowledgeable. Good place, but a bit out of the way... worth a stop for sure. | | wrx72 (10), Kent, Ohio | | October 23, 2011 Great little spot hidden away off Euclid Heights Blvd in Cleveland Heights, Ohio. They always have good beer on draft, even though the tap handles are somewhat limited. Good selection of beer in the coolers as well. Worth seeking out if you are in the area. | | vinobmo (10), Ohio | | February 18, 2011 Always an enjoyable place to visit when I visit Cleveland | | raj201 (11), Ohio | | February 9, 2011 Nice, dark, quiet, candles on the table. Huge wine and craft beer selection. Server was prompt and very knowledgeable about the wine and the beer. Love this place. | | SimonBrewski (11), Ohio | | November 5, 2010 Awesome atmosphere. Great knowledgeable staff, but if it gets busy the service may suffer quite a bit. The bottle selection is great. The tap selection is hit or miss. They seem to constantly rotate the taps with individual kegs of a beer. You never know what they will have or if it will run out while they are pouring your beer. With that said they do have some rarities that you just won’t find elsewhere. The wine selection is great if that is your thing. | | Acetobacter (46), Pennsylvania | | March 15, 2010 I have visited the Wine Cave during my last several visits to Cleveland, and have yet to come away with a feeling of anything other than elation (and of course, intoxication). The Wine Cave is located on the bottom floor of another bar (the Winking Lizard), and resembles a cave in terms of the lighting and construction. The scene is one of young professionals, hipsters, and a few educated-looking couples on dates. The beer selection is excellent. About 12 high quality beers are on tap, with approximately 100 more bottles in a set of coolers in the back. Rare Belgians, a collection of some of the best American craft selections available in Ohio, and an excellent wine selection. Prices tend to be quite reasonable, given the quality of the beers being consumed. Overall, this is a must-visit in the Cleveland area. | | IPFreely (143), Sanborn, New York | | February 26, 2010 Awesome basement bar. Stopped in here before a show at the Grog Shop right next door. The place had just opened, so there were very few other people there. The bartender was very attentive and knowledgeable. Small tap selection, but the beers on tap were all very solid. Huge beer cooler that took up an entire wall. Great bottle selection, with a big nod towards Belgians and Belgian-styled beers. I could have easily spent much more time and money in here if I didn’t have to leave. Great bar | | meod1124 (10), | | February 10, 2010 Interesting little place. | apaternite (2), Ohio does not count - explanation | | February 8, 2010 Absolutely love this place. It really does feel like you’re in some sort of cave stuck with the best beer and wine you can get your hands on. It’s also a perfect place to take a girl on a date. |
