| JMerritt (65), Macomb, Illinois | | June 9, 2011 Visited while in town for a conference. It was hot outside (92, humid) but it was hotter inside - crazy. I didn’t sit near the bar, so all I saw was their bottled beer list. They have about 125 bottled beers, and easily 20% of those are rated 90+ on Ratebeer, so there is plenty to choose from. Many were a little pricey, but there were some gems for $4. I got the Dogfish Head Zeno here for $7 and it included a free glass, so that was pretty neat. Got a buffalo chicken sandwich that was good, not great. I’d come back (on a cooler day). | | Hawksfan17 (63), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania | | May 16, 2011 Large sports bar that takes over the whole block. 20-25 taps but only 8-10 are decent beer. They have a large bottle selection though and the food was decent. | | valgalder (14), Buffalo, New York | | April 22, 2011 Decent beer selection, and the wings are good (which says a lot since I live in wing city) Good place to stop for a couple and a bite to eat if i’m downtown for an event or whatnot. | | Rastacouere (581), Montréal, Quebec | | August 2, 2010 100% a sports bar with TVs everywhere right by the Indians’ stadium. Very large place too, but it was almost empty when we were there on a Wednesday night. No local teams were playing though. A bit over 20 draught beers were on deck that night. The list was not particularly impressive per se, but considering the environment that does not exactly seemed designed to pull the beer geek in, it was spectacular. Expect a couple from the regular Great Lakes lineup, perhaps a Stone or two, a Dogfish Head or two, maybe a Founders, some Bells. You get the picture. Myself, I ended up getting a classic: Two Hearted. Not recommendable by any means, but I guess if you’re in Cleveland for more than a couple of days, you’d quickly run out of options. Just make sure you’re into sports bars. | zkascak (3), Ohio does not count - explanation | | March 17, 2010 Right downtown by Progressive Field. The cheese steak was very good. They have an ample selection of bottled beers that are part of the world tour of beers. And the service si always good. | | meod1124 (10), | | February 10, 2010 Interesting critters... | | HoppityHop (54), New Jersey | | April 15, 2009 This chain has so much potential. Too bad they serve the LCD (lowest common denominator) that thinks drinking Spaten is livin’ large. Not a bad place, but there’s better in the area. | | Tmoney99 (331), Cincinnati, Ohio | | December 24, 2008 Downtown Cleveland with doors on both sides of the corner. There the Saturday night before Bengals-Browns football game. Crowded put the service was good and the beers served quickly. Nice selection of taps and bottles. Had the fish dinner and the portion was good size and flavor was good. | | MoDog (23), Griffith, Indiana | | August 31, 2008 Downtown Cleveland. A nice sized sports bar with a nice beer selection. Lots of macro imports along with a very nice tap and bottle list of micros. The food was standard sports bar stuff (wings and burgers). Service was decent enough for as busy as the place was. A good place to hit before or after an Indians game. | | notalush (256), Denver, Colorado | | February 22, 2008 Downtown (Gateway) location - stopped in here for dinner because it was really close to my hotel - typical American sports bar atmosphere, with loads of televisions everywhere - I was there at happy hour, and it wasn’t very crowded - the majority of people inside were drinking Bud or Stella - the taps were dominated by Great Lakes (which you can get at any bar in town), and the standard British imports, with a few exceptions in the form of a Founders IPA and something else I can’t remember - their bottle list had a couple of bottles from most regional breweries (Bells Amber, Founder Scotch Ale, etc.) as well as a few fairly common belgian imports - in short, the beer selection wasn’t what I’d been lead to believe based on some other ratings of the place - the food was greasy, salty, ho-hum American fare - not a bad place to have a beer if you’ve got no other options - reminds me of Max’s in Baltimore, without the impressive beer selection. |
