| obxdude10 (99), Pottstown, Pennsylvania | | June 3, 2011 It doesn’t seem like there’s a whole lot of difference in ABC than the last brewpub that was in this space years ago (although, for the life of me, I can’t remember the name of it). The seating arrangements are the same, the bar is in the same place, etc. The food menu is basically the same as it is in Harrisburg, but is quite good. The pizza was great, the wings were quite good, and the pulled pork was delicious. Also the same as their Harrisburg location is their beer. This location offers the same exact beer menu. I was able to try a couple of new offerings on my first visit, although neither were all that great. In fact, the Kolsch should be avoided at all costs. The Maibock was fairly decent. I would stick with the usual year-round ABC staples like Hoppy Trails, the Stout, the Pale Ale and the Wheat. The service was extremely slow. I was very tempted to order another beer as soon as the fresh one was served to me. The food service was on time and very attentive, though. On ABC’s defense, it was a Friday night and the place was very busy. Hopefully the service issues will get resolved, because I am definitely planning on returning. I also hope that I can edit this review and increase the score a bit! Here’s rooting for you, ABC Collegeville! | | DocLock (121), Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania | | May 24, 2011 [ Updated July 13, 2011 ] Large place with big wooden beams overhead and a nice selection of flags. Plenty of room to move here. The meat loaf and pork medallions were excellent, the beers were your standard average fare from ABC. Service started good, but declined late, and the menu was not at all clear about which sodas were included with the kids meals. The root beer was included, but the birch beer wasn’t. One drink was free, but refills weren’t. They asked if my son wanted his 2nd kids meal without fries, then charged us for fries. When the manager eventually arrived, he had an attitude the size of Manhattan. Eventually all was set right in the world, but not before a struggle. I bought the $60 dollar mug club package, but if I don’t get my money’s worth, I’ll start an anti-ABC campaign that would make George S. Patton himself jealous.
Rerate 13-Jul-2011. Service has gotten better here, the food is outstanding, the selection of beers has typically been 10 strong, and I did get a beer mail from an ABC manager offering to speak with me about any issues, so that’s great customer service there. On the negative side, they really need to get the air conditioning fixed in this place. It can often feel like 80 degrees here. | | alobar (43), Lansdale, Pennsylvania | | May 20, 2011 Just opened for the second night. Nice atmosphere. Meat loaf is outstanding. Food was very good at a decent price. Sampler was equally a good value. Beers were good. Nothing overly impressive. Waitress was a bit off, but service was excellent. |
