| RABinVA (17), Fredericksburg, Virginia | | May 19, 2012 Best you’re gonna find for bottles in Colorado Springs. Tons of domestic and import craft brews. Though, like any liquor store in COS, beer isn’t the priority for the staff or customers so a lot of the bottles have been sitting there for awhile. This can be good though as you can find plenty of stuff that ages well just sitting on a shelf. Employees and nice and seem knowledgeable. | Contrail_25 (1), Colorado does not count - explanation | | March 16, 2012 I lived two blocks up the street and Coaltrain was my go-to beer store. I am biased due to my frequent visits that resulted in a good relationship with staff there. It’s not a mega beer store nor a chain, but for a small local shop it’s above and beyond anything I’ve come across. I live overseas now, but anytime I’m home I make sure to swing by. Great selection for a small store! | | slimchill (82), Austin, Texas | | October 5, 2011 Great selection. Decent prices. Friendly staff. | jeffzearfoss (1), Colorado Springs, Colorado does not count - explanation | | August 18, 2011 Small and fairly anonymous looking from the outside, only to find a remarkably cozy interior and a wonderful staff. Sometimes they’re a little cold until you engage them, but I have found the level of knowledge to be very high, regardless of the time I visit. An amazing selection of single bottle domestic and imports. Easily one of the best stores in Colorado Springs. | | adnielsen (277), Fort Collins, Colorado | | February 21, 2011 Typical strip mall liquor store exterior and interior. I almost walked out of the store without seeing the bomber selection as it’s not next to the six packs. Their bomber selection is pretty nice with a couple of harder to find beers. Maybe worth a stop if you’re in Colorado Springs, not otherwise. | | bblack99 (30), Kansas City, Missouri | | August 16, 2010 Nice little store doesn’t look like much from the outside and is dangerously cozy inside, but makes up for it with a very nice selection for the area.
The gang behind the counter is helpful and will open up if you know what you’re talking about and really into beer, but might seem a little chilly if you’re wandering around like a goof. Nice selection of beers with Ska’s Local, Bristol, other small Colorado micros, Stone, RR, TONS of Port Brewing, and a good bit of Lost Abbey.
Really good store, but I had built it up so much in my mind to be like a Denver mega-store that it fell a touch short of expectations. However, great people, good selection, and clearly the best in Colo Springs! | Rotorhead87 (3), Temple, Texas does not count - explanation | | June 29, 2009 Excellent beer selection and helpful staff. I’m not from he area and was overwhelmed with the number of beers I can’t get at home.... | | glennmastrange (40), hobe sound, Florida | | April 16, 2009 [ Updated May 8, 2009 ] This place has a decent selection of west coast beers, so for me there was a lot to buy. They were out of Pliny the Elder, but here I am in Montrose, CO now, and the The Liquor Store has plenty. The guy behind the counter was only slightly helpful, and was either not authorized, or too cheap to offer up a free glass after a big purchase like most respectable, quality beer and liquor stores do. For some of you who don’t already know, most stores get those glasses free from their distributors. | | jb43 (47), Colorado Springs, Colorado | | February 20, 2009 [ Updated October 1, 2009 ] Good location (next to interstate 25, exit 143). Good selection of beers overall. Service can be hit or miss depending on which employee you get, but usually they are friendly and helpful. The store has always been clean and in good condition when I have visited. Not the cheapest prices in town, but still worth the trip considering the selection and location. Definitely one of the top liquor stores in Colorado Springs. | BritAlesRule (2), Colorado Springs, Colorado does not count - explanation | | October 11, 2008 This is a mecca of great beer(and wine) in our little city... don’t know how I could have survived without them. They supply all the Trappists, every micro available to the town, including the recently available California beers from Russian River and Lost Abbey... these guys really make the effort to please. I’ve actually given them a wish list and they’ve done their best to get the stuff on it... awesome. Great job guys. |
