68 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 6/10 SELECTION 15/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE 3/10 OVERALL 10/20 Deryk (2) Elgin, Alabama | December 15, 2012 If you like a large selection and an overpriced menu than this is place for you. Don’t get me wrong, I love college girls in microskirts serving beers, but the gimmicky atmosphere and tiny servings at large costs make this not the place to go if you really want to enjoy a couple beers. | 98 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 15/15 FOOD 10/10 VALUE 10/10 OVERALL 20/20 RickyJ (2) South Carolina | November 27, 2012| Updated January 7, 2013 Great service and even better beer selection. Great place to relax. | 74 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 9/15 FOOD 6/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 16/20 Aurelius (109) Tallahassee, Florida | October 25, 2012 On par with other larger Flying Saucers. Big patio for the smokers, reasonable parking - drive on the sidestreets for street parking. Flying Saucer food is OK, the palate cleanser plate is great, esp the cheeses. Service was not as great as other places. Friendly crowd, same old pint night and trivia. One thing that makes this a good destination is that there are at least two other great beer bars with huge selections in staggering distance. | 86 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 18/20 Garbageman (19) Lexington, South Carolina | October 11, 2012 A great place to grab a brew. Rotating selection with lots of hard to find brews. | 92 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 10/10 OVERALL 20/20 batlash (1) Columbia, South Carolina | April 21, 2012 I love the Flying Saucer. It’s a cozy, welcoming place. The waitresses are beautiful and genuinely friendly. A nearly perfect beer bar. | 86 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 9/10 OVERALL 17/20 pari6819 (40) Florida | March 20, 2012 This is probably one of my favorite drink halls. Great selection and good staff. The food was typical bar food, but very well done. Their beer selection was fantastic, especially considering I had not expected to find such an establishment in Columbia. | 76 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 15/20 gvmdw7 (37) California | March 17, 2012 Came here on St. Pattys day. It was pretty low key. Food selection was good and they did have some unique choices. The draught list had many quality selections. They have a nice outdoor patio. Last time I came they had Mephistopheles stout on draft; which blew my mind, mainly because it was in South Carolina. Definitely the best place in town for good food and beer | 80 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 6/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD 6/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 17/20 MeddleMakr (2) South Carolina | November 23, 2011 I like going here. Yea, the service isn’t always that great and the waitstaff are there just for looks, but I only really go for the beer. They have 82 beers or so on tap, but there could be more craft beers and rarities. There should be more local beers though. The food is just bar food. Some of the stuff is decent, like the quesadilla, chips and queso, and a couple sandwiches. Some of these reviewers act like this place is supposed to have good food or something. Anyhow, I go to get my name on the wall and to drink some beer that I normally wouldn’t get to taste. | 84 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 14/15 FOOD 6/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 17/20 lizboston (2) New Fairfield, South Carolina | November 20, 2011 Nice place and a lot of beers on selection. But the staff is a little rude. Worth going though. | 72 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 6/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD 6/10 VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 15/20 Crompt (10) Clover, South Carolina | November 12, 2011 This bar is usually very crowded with huge beer selection. The issue is that more than half of the beers are a waste of tap space because they can either be found in your local grocery store or poor quality. I’d rather see more US craft beers from quality breweries than a bunch of imported lagers/pilsners equivalent to Bud Light. Food is average. |
