2 reviews for Ft Jackson Class VI Store
Pookie9121 (9), Columbia, South Carolina does not count - explanation | | August 20, 2009 Good selection of standard beers with periodic updates during different seasons. Fantastic pricing on many of the beers. (no tax!!!) It is on a military base so the ambiance is what you would expect. | | Gmku (16), Asheville, North Carolina | | January 25, 2009 As you might imagine for an Army store, this is serviceable but not very imaginative. Nevertheless, prices on almost every beer beat everything "in town," with some weird exceptions (Rogue beers are about a dollar more than you’ll find in town, for whatever reason). Beer selection is hit or miss. There’s a good seleciton of the standbys like Sierra Nevada Pale Ale as well as some of the heavier duty stuff like Flying Dog’s Imperial Stout and Double Pale. There’s also a hefty seleciton of the usual German lagers. You won’t find much that’s wide-ranging--no Belgian’s, for example. On the other hand, around Christmas I almost always find Kulmbacher Eisbock in plentiful supply. For prices alone, this place is worth the visit, if you’re willing to settle for the tried and true while shopping the red, white, and blue. |
