We stopped in Gordon Biersch for a late dinner after SLU beat Memphis (woohoo!) in the first round of the NCAA Tournament at Nationwide Arena. It’s tucked next to some still-functioning tracks in the Arena District in a cool brick building. The inside is clean and modern, with a pretty impressive design and layout. We snagged a table for 6 to watch the late games while we ate and drank. The beer list had 5 or 6 year-round options with one rotator- this was my first time having any GB brews, and they were good but nothing special. The food was a wide range; the garlic fries were good but my burger was clearly a frozen patty, with a symmetrical shape and tight edge, and overcooked. Too processed. I didn’t see prices for the beers but the food was on the high end of a brewpub. Our waiter was attentive, friendly, and as helpful as could be. I was actually pretty impressed with this place overall based on my expectations. I’ll visit GB in other cities if it’s as convenient as this one was.

Directly across from a sports arena, we visited shortly after an NHL game, the bar area was crowded with fans spilling over after an eneventful hockey game. I ordered the seasonal which is a Tripel not found in teh RB database, flavor was okay, but just very boring. pricing was 550 for a tall draught, and mixed drinks are more expensive @ 8.50 a drink. Food was in the 15 to 25 dollar range and they had also run out of jagermeister.

This is your typical chain brewpub. The prices are inflated although the food is on par with most Rock Bottoms that I’ve been at. The beer selection won’t awe anyone. The choices do give you more than just "a light and dark" but not by much. Service was middling and closing the tab turned into a twenty minute task. Overall there’s really not much to say about this place that hasn’t been covered elsewhere except that this is not the type of place a beer geek is really going to enjoy. Check out some local places instead for true Ohio atmosphere.

Only really went here because Barleys was too crowded for comfort. As an aside, I’d realised how few Gordon Biersch beers I’d actually rated, even though I’d been to various of their locations over the years. It transpired that Barleys was packed because of an event at the arena so this place, being even closer, was packed too. Despite being standing room only, service was remarkably efficient. There were a few new beers for me so job done. Beers, as usual with Gordon Biersch, were respectable but unexciting. Overall, OK but nothing really to distinguish this place from any of the other branches.

I was able to finally check out Gordon Biersch for an early Saturday morning lunch. As I walked up to the patio the familiar smells of fresh wort and hops hit my nose - I was lucky enough to stop by while there was a homebrew festival going on, which was very cool. Kind of neat to be able to see all the different systems being used. Inside the interior was nice and somewhat upscale. If you’ve been to a place like the Yardhouse you know what I’m talking about. As for the beer I found it all to be decent, though unspectacular. The highlight was probably their seasonal, which was a weisenbock. I get that Gordon Biersch is brewing the German styles, and while I appreciate those these seem to be carefully reigned in examples. The food was eclectic, and again the best comparison would be to the Yardhouse. It has this California modern American thing going on. Overall the experience certainly wasn’t bad, but I’ll always prefer the cozyness of my local brewpub as compared to a place that looks the same everywhere I go.

Went here after the OSU vs. Miami game. I wish they offered a few more beers than they do. I wanted to try their seasonal brew, but unfortunately they were between seasonal beers. The food was pretty good too. While in the area check out the piano bar next door, its a blast.

My brother and I had an enjoyable meal here while visiting Columbus for a minor league baseball game. The beer is good and fresh. I generally like the selection better at non-chain brewpubs where they can be more creative, and I prefer ales to the German styles, but this is a good place for a Lager.

Stumbled upon this place while lost in Columbus. I would have never found it had I not tried a shortcut. I came in when they were done serving food but they still offered to make my group something. They had 5 beers on tap and our waiter seemed pretty knowledgeable about them all. I would definitely go back f given the opportunity.

A little pretentious, but not too much so. The home beer is ok (didn’t ask about bottle), the atmosphere is nice, and the service is about average. The food is good. If others are going by all means go, but I wouldn’t seek this out since elevator is right down the road.

Went here on a busy Friday night. I’ve been to a few Gordon Biersch’s and this was spot on with what I expected. Decent beer selection with ample seating and a nice bar. Had a Marzen and we had to stand so we didn’t stay long. Not much else to say if you’ve been to a GB you know what to expect.
