| jlanning215 (30), Peoria, Illinois | | March 19, 2012 Happened upon this. Saw the handles through the window and went in. Fantastic. Thomas the bartender was super friendly and freely gave adive about where to go for good beer. 11 tap handles and a small selection of bottles... Mostly Belgian. Had awesome beers. I’ll be here for two months and this is where I’ll be on my days off. I hear it is like a sardine can on the weekends. Thankfully, my days off are sunday monday | | Skinnyviking (113), Copenhagen, Denmark | | November 4, 2011 Small place with a cosy atmosphere. Bartender knew the beers on tap and appeared have a good general knowledge on beer. Nice selection of beers on tap as well as a few bottled beers. Just too bad that smoking is allowed. | | Boudicca (205), London, England | | July 9, 2011 I was a little confused when I first entered Byens Kro as I was sure I’d been there before but it looked completely different. Then Jacob told me that they’d moved the bar, from along the left hand wall to the right, facing the street. That explained it!
Behind the bar there’s an upstairs cupboard like area with, I think, a single table; elsewhere there are wooden tables and pendant lamps. It’s a relaxed and cosy but quirky sort of place, with quirky decorations – an agitated Tuborg glass on raw wool, chillies arranged artistically on a piece of fur, a beagle with a pipe. In retrospect, this may have been a dog dressed as Sherlock Holmes, but I don’t remember a deerstalker. The toilet is fully graffitied.
The beer range isn’t huge but there are several taps, including Byens Ol brewed by Svaneke for the Kro, and about 30 bottles.

| | KnutAlbert (212), Oslo, Norway | | May 19, 2011 Probably as authentic as it gets if you still want a decent beer eselction. German and Belgian beers, Mikkeller and Hancock.
Students solving world problems over a Chimay, regulars propping up the bar. A slightly bewildered barman. But you have to live with the smoke. A lot of smoke. | | faroeviking (127), , Haiti | | January 27, 2011 Well got a hard to get Svaneke beer on tap some time in the laet fall of 2010. VERY smoky place, more or less everbody had a smoke except myself. Ok staff and ok beers, nthing really special though and not worth the smoke torture. | | rosenbergh (275), Helsinki, Finland | | February 18, 2010 Saw this place here on ratebeer.com and decided to pay a visit. Well, I’m not convinced that it paid off. Not interesting, with just couple of taps, cheapish and worn-out place. Service was good but it’s not really a pub. |
