| Skinnyviking (113), Copenhagen, Denmark | | November 6, 2011 I have visited this place quite ofthen without rating it. These days it is a part of the celland and it has been moved from the ground floor as the rest of the departments food. I am not sure but it looks as if they have had a new one to buy their beers as the selection has improved considerably. The ordinary Danish macros and micros will be find there but also quite a good deal of Danish and foreign beers that are not so easy to get. I did not see any staff and could see another customer looking from them without success. Definately room for improvement in this respect. | | LookMomNoHands (27), Copenhagen, Denmark | | August 8, 2011 Magasin du Nord - a shopping classic in Copenhagen. A department store in the heart of Copenhagen. In the basement you can find their food and wine department ("Mad og Vin") - a lot of delicious stuff here! There is also a beer section, not exactly resemble a supermarket’s range but either a specialized beer store selection. The selection is better than most supermarkets, many Belgians, Germans and of course Danish microes. All in the better quality range. If you´re looking for something rare or extraordinary, this is not the place. A bit cheaper than the beer stores, more expensive than the supermarket. Very good service - always friendly and welcoming. | | Boudicca (205), London, England | | July 3, 2011 Magasin is one of the two major department stores in Copenhagen. It has a good food and wine department in the basement, with a small area given over to beer.
There was quite a large selection when I last visited at the end of May, although they tend to have only a few bottles of each. I was after their own brand beers and found two - Fodselsdags Ol 2011 and Paske Ol at DKK 45 each.
Other beers available included Fullers Vintage Ale 2010 (one bottle), one Sogaard, two BrewDogs, a Jennings gift pack, lots of Warwik and Herslev, a few from Mikkeller and Beer Here and lots of Carlsberg in its various guises. In the food section there were also non alcoholic ciders and almost as many different fruit juices as there were beers.
Prices for some of the more standard brews were cheaper here than in Barley Wine or Gammel Strand Ol og Vin. This was also true in the other big store, Illum in Ostergade (Stroget), which had a good selection of Norrebro bottles for DKK 25.
(Last visited 28 May 2011).
| | gunnar (178), Sandnes, Norway | | December 7, 2010 Tiny selection of beers from all over the world, also some hard to find scandinavian beers on offer. Affordable prices as well. | | Pinball (56), Copenhagen, Denmark | | October 5, 2010 Magasin have shops several places in greater copenhagen. The 3 shops i have visited have VERY different beer selections. Magasin in Fields have TWO different beers, no more than that??. Magasin in Lyngby have about 50 to 100 different, probably closer to 50 than 100. Some of them were dusty when i was there. Magasin Kgs. Nytorv have 100+ bottles, concetrated on a narrow selection of brewers, but in general good brewers. I found beers i haven’t ticked from meantime, Flying dog, flensburger, sierre nevada, erdinger, christoffel, t smisje, wittekerke, könig ludwig, bøgedal, magasin (det lille bryggeri). also macro beers and a few ciders. they also have westvleteren, hornbeer, herslev and others.Prices are fair, bottles seem to be new. Very practically the supermarket have an opening inside the metro so You can go in straight from the inside of the station, no need to go all the way up. Apart from beers all sorts of gourmet food is sold too. Cheese. nom nom. | | HenrikSoegaard (144), Randers, Denmark | | June 8, 2010 Nice supermarket selection. They now have there own brand so it might be worth while stopping by. Prices are OK. | | faroeviking (127), , Haiti | | January 4, 2010 Nice selection of beers. Friendly staff (even though they don’t know so much about beer). Some danish micros can be found here, which are hard to find in general. They even have 4 beers of their own (brewed by det Lille Bryggeri). But, the place is quite high on the prices. You can buy some tasty food at the cafe just outside the supermarket (lowest floor). | | jesperhammer (27), Copenhagen, Denmark | | December 8, 2009 Nice selection, but too pricey. That about sums it up for me.
So I buy beer there from time to time simply because they have beers that are otherwise difficult to find, .e.g Anchor, Meyers, and Bøgedal.
BUT it is only a five min. walk to "Barley Wine", do mostly I walk... |
