A small and unpretentious bar in the hip Elmegade of Nørrebro. Neither the tap or bottle lists are more flashy than the bar itself, but seems carefully curated, and there’s always something new and interesting available. Being quite small, the place gets easily packed, but always maintains a laid back atmosphere. The staff is very service minded, and eager to help or discuss the choices available. Still one of the top spots in the city.

Rather small place with a nice laid back atmosphere. Over twenty taps, so there is a good selection to chose from, mostly containing Danish beers.

The locals were busy having a party, but they invited us in and found us seats. The server helped us choose. (Her father was the brewer at Flying Couch). The locals chatted to us all the time and bought us beer and let us take food from the buffet. They even gave us some schnapps to try. A good selection of beers from Denmark and other places.

Remember visiting back in early 2012/2013 and it was always rammed, but now with the plethora of drinking establishments across Copenhagen for the discerning drinker to choose it is generally rather quieter on recent visits. Still a good selection to choose from on Tap and bottle, and worth visiting if on your way up to M&F.

Nice place. Felt lived in. Selection was a little different from other places. Seems a little less hectic than some of the other places around.

One of the first beer plages in Copenhagen. Nice place with a freindly staff with knowledge of the beers on tap. 10-15 beers on tap that are changing.

A bit out of the centre in the same zone as Nørrebrio. One of Copenhagen’s old stagers and the nearest to a normal beer bar, possibly. Nonetheless a bit grungy, hideously expensive and not far beyond just chucking out the beers. The bottled list lay largely hidden.

Ølbaren is but a few streets back from the Nørrebro Bryghus. It is a relatively small bar with a cosy feel and laid-back atmosphere. Clientele appears to be mostly local, which is usually a good sign. They offer 12-15 taps of quality European and American craft beer, with the majority from To Øl, Evil Twin, Mikkeller and Amager on my visits. Knowledgeable and attentive service. A rather good little beer spot.
