| visionthing (114), Oslo, Norway | | December 16, 2011 Nice and interesting museum. Limited selection in the bar, but nice to be able to watch the Jacobsen Brewery from above. | | MonMadsen (65), , Denmark | | November 17, 2011 Visited July 10th. Large bar area with no personal touch. Windows so you can see the brewery. OK tour of the place with decent beer in the end. | | Skinnyviking (113), Copenhagen, Denmark | | November 6, 2011 The visitors centre tells the Carlsberg story by means of posters, videos, brewing material and a look of the horses. The brewhouse can only be visited on guided tours and is not all that interesting. The copper kettles in the tasting room do however look good and there is a place where you can try various aromas. The tasting room is quite large with a lot of tables and chares. Quite modern. It holds a large bar where you can taste beers from tap or bottled beer. Friendly staff that are well educated. There is also a shop where you can buy all the tourist stuff you will need. | | Christian (159), Odense, Denmark | | April 4, 2011 Well, it’s a good museum, but a pretty boring bar. Visit once for the museum, but only come back if you’re a Jacobsen completist and need the special releases. | | magnusgb (11), Trondheim, Norway | | January 24, 2011 Interesting visit, took the whole tour down in the basements and learned som interesting trivia about carlsberg and jacobsen. The bar at the end had a lot of nice Jacobsen brews, which was nice as we only have three bad ones up in Norway. The bar area itself was pretty impersonal, but otherwise this was a great visit! The bartender looked like heath ledger, my female friend was in ecstasy! | | gbe75 (10), , Iceland | | November 4, 2010 Interesting visit. Learned about Jacobsen beer. Worthwhile to visit. | | HenrikSoegaard (144), Randers, Denmark | | June 8, 2010 NIce informative museum which ends up in a bar overviewing Jacobsen brewry. Actually very cosey. I dont care about intrance fee because I come here once a year with my high school students and we get in for free! Sometimes the barman can be persuaded to go to the cellar bringing back some goodies. | | SFtaster (13), San Francisco, California | | January 21, 2010 As a tourist, I’m a little more forgiving than the Scandanavians who have written reviews. I rode my bike from city center on a warm July day in 2003 and I remember it as an enjoyable way to spend an afternoon. Sure, the beer is nothing to get excited about, but I appreciated the history and the memorabilia of a historic brewery. | | Rune (234), Tromsø, Norway | | June 19, 2008 The Carlsberg Visitors Centre and The Jacobsen Brewhouse are worth a visit. It is located not so far from where The European Beer Festival 08 takes place. First there is the huge bottle selection (almost 18.000 in late May), then the interesting history of the development of Carlsberg from the first part of the 19th Century until today, further on the sculpture garden, the stables and then you walk through the souvenir shop before entering the bar. 50 Dkr for the whole tour includes two tasters at the bar where it is, of course, possible to buy more beers. About 25 different beers to choose from - bottles from Carlsberg, Tuborg, Kongens Bryghus and the Jacobsen’s range on tap The bar itself gives an airy impression and has got a traditional-modern design. The rating condition is perfect if it is not too crowded. Be aware of the opening hours (visited 29.05.2008). |
