| Rustyham (25), miami, Florida | | March 14, 2009 The selection was weak, but better than any other bar in the area. The service was great, they knew there beers (waiter recognized which beer’s bottle cap I was wearing as a a necklace) and the prices on some beers surprised me as to their cheapness. Definitely worth going too. Good food, too. | | cbeers21 (22), Miami, Florida | | July 30, 2008 Dark and sometimes dreary bar, but not without its own charm. Nice sturdy wooden bar with tables and games to play in the back. Pretty typical bar food, but it hits the mark. Decent selection of brews with some surprises (st bernardus 12 for 6$) and pedestrian tap offerings, although better than most of the other area bars. Good drink specials almost every night and fairly helpful staff. Certanly worth a stop if you are in the area. | | Oakes (421), gone rambling, Vietnam | | June 21, 2008 Divey sort of place, with loud music and a mixed crowd. The beer selection isn’t stellar, but it’s solid and you’ll find something. The south side of Dade county is a bit of a wasteland, so this is a place you should jot down in your notebook. | | Beershine (261), Where Climate Suits My Clothes, Vietnam | | May 10, 2008 Small atmospheric institution just off Miracle Mile. Centerpiece is the old wooden long bar in the center. Dim lighting. Wooden booths. Attentive servers. Can be crowded outside on weekends from smokers milling about the few standing-only tables on the sidewalk. Pleasant inside except for the air conditioning. Jukebox offers a fun selection including old Beastie hits. A few arcade games are hidden in the back too. Bottle selection offers solid brews like Orval and the Rochefort trio. Unfortunately a little pricey. Tap selection could be improved but isn’t bad. NOTE: Gratuity is included. |
