| Beershine (540), The Sunshine State, Florida | | March 8, 2012 The selection here is pretty bad for a Whole Foods. Every once in a while they might get something in like a 100K+OT but the standard selection is paltry. However, it’s a very good Whole Foods, good staff, good atmosphere. For beer, though, the one in Pinecrest (farther south down US-1) is way better! | FudgeSociety2 (7), Florida does not count - explanation | | July 15, 2011 Decent at best. Has a few beers that I haven’t seen anywhere else in the Miami area (such as Duchesse de bourg-whatever the hell). Prices are expensive, but nothing dissimilair from the rest of the overpriced miami stores. My biggest beef is the fairly small selection. Go to Stop-n-shop coral gables (next to titanic) instead for the best selection in the area (although prices are also shitty). They do get Bells seasonals though (hopslam, expedition), as does stop-n-shop; not Milams though. The whole foods i went to in fairfax (fair lakes), virginia was so much better. | | cbeers21 (35), Miami, Florida | | March 6, 2011 A decent beer selection that occasionally has a few well priced gems. It is an upscale store with pricey food and beer. There are usually a dozen bombers usually some west coast offerings and a few of the more popular Belgians. Not a good place to go do a majority of your beer shopping but if you are in the store you can always find a deal or two if you know where to look. Beer people seem to be hit or miss, some know what they are talking about and the others are probably just stocking the shelves. | | Moodster (11), Florida | | March 20, 2010 It’s just a fancy store with fancy (good) food and fancy wines and fancy BEER! It’s not the best thing in the world for beer there, but there are some good things. The service (for beer) sucks because most likely the beer shopper can educate them instead of the opposite!
I’d rather go to either of the two quicky marts in the area (ponce de leon next to Titanic and dominos or the one on le jeune crossing us1 next to the don pan). They have some goood stuff! | | quiquesan (15), Miami, Florida | | August 30, 2009 For a supermarket in the Miami area this place has a great selection and the prices are better than ABC and about the same with Total Wine. I was in a few weeks ago and saw Aventinus on sale for $2.99 a bottle, usually $3.50 - $3.80. Total score is low because the staff doesn’t know too much about beer but that is fine for a place like this. | | smith4498 (20), Miami, Florida | | March 1, 2009 Very small beer section compared to other Whole Foods I have been to. They has a few common Belgians, a couple Dogfish Head, some organic stuff and a few ciders. Below average selection. I won’t be going back there again. Right down the street is Crown Liquors, and across the highway is a tiny conveince store with a much better selecion overall. | | Rustyham (84), Nashville, Tennessee | | January 20, 2009 If you are in the are, stop in. It doesn’t have a large amount of beers, but the ones they do have a random as hell, specifically focusing on organic beers (less, a lot of Samuel Smiths) plus some strange gluten-free. They do have nice prices for beer at that- 8.99 for the large Tremens bottles. |
