| GTAEgeek (49), Atlanta, Georgia | | May 19, 2011 This is a huge sports bar, with TVs everywhere. The service was prompt but kinda unfriendly, but the waitress had a rudimentary knowledge of beer, and attempted to tell me what a Maibock is. There is a fairly wide selection of house beers, and a short, but good, bottle list. They sell all the basic macrobrews, and push them hard. The food is basic bar food, and passable. The beer is all well priced, including the house beer. Overall, a fun place, but not exactly a beer lovers bar. | | KAggie97 (213), Ugly, Hot, and Humid Spring, Texas | | December 27, 2010 Not bad but if you’re looking for quality micros, keep looking. If you’re looking for ticks, stop by- you’ll have about 10 by the time you leave. Food is above average, service was fine. Not a destination place unless, of course, you’re a-tickin’. Met bhops here, thus proving he is NOT someone’s alter ego. | | dukefan (51), Dallas, Texas | | March 24, 2010 The Trifecta of bad. Bad food, bad service, really bad beer. The food is so substandard. The kind of stuff you would expect to find off a highway exit in the Midwest next to McDonalds. Yeah, like Big Boy. Service is ridiculous. My last trip in I actually sat at the bar for nearly an hour with a growler in front of me. No bartender, no manager, no one came to help me. Which was actually a blessing, since the beer is horrible. The Porter and the Big Red IPA can be acceptable when you are visiting a friend and all they have is Bud. But otherwise, this is not very good.
All that being said, the atmosphere of this place is "Strike Four". Dark, dingy, in desperate need of both a remodel and some windows. If you want to hit a Humperdink’s Brewpub, the openness and windows of Humpie NW Hwy, and also in Arlington at least make for an airy, more pleasant surrounding. No matter how many 2 for 1 entree coupons they send me, I have only been there once - and I am only about 2 miles away. | | Mora2000 (51), Dallas, Texas | | February 10, 2010 Decent brewpub that has a nice bottle list in addition to their own beers on tap. The food is nothing special, but is at least average and is standard restaurant fair: burgers, chicken fried steak, wings, etc... The beer ranges from not good at all to slightly above average and there are cheap growlers and samplers available. A nice place to watch a game. | | bhops (37), Dallas, Texas | | July 27, 2008 chain bar, decent food, a few decent brews but nothing spectacular. Lots of good tvs though. | | ilovedarkbeer (61), Abilene, Texas | | March 30, 2008 Nice food, lovabley stupid staff. Brought me the wrong burger. Not bad atmosphere, for watching a game. NCAA Texas vs. Memphis, therefore this place was packed. Beers were decent and very well prices, 5.50 for 8 beers. Decent food, ok beer. | | BMan1113VR (279), Los Angeles, California | | March 30, 2008 Quite good food, the burger was great. Beers offered other than there own were the bassic macros. The beer they had was decent, but not up to BJ’s level. They sign said that they still had there abbey seasonal, but they were out. Stay away from the Chile beer. Good prices on beer, food was better, but a bit higher priced. Fine sports bar/restaurant overall. | | fiulijn (273), Como, Italy | | December 18, 2006 The atmosphere is very common American diner with big screens and football on tv. The beers are ok. The waitress is not only kind, but also very cute, they know how to choose them in Dallas... | | troyc (147), Oklahoma | | October 11, 2006 Beer was not very good and served almost at room temperature. Service was kinda hit and miss. Food was good though. Overall, I was kinda disappointed with this place. | pjk33 (6), Sligo - Curllsville Heights, Pennsylvania does not count - explanation | | September 17, 2006 It’s a sports bar with some pretty decent brews that they make. The Hefeweizen is excellent. Cuban sandwich is excellent as well. Good greasy food, decent beer and a few bartenders that are worth looking at.... |
