Original Review: May 23. Revised Nov 23. Years later, old reviews speak the same. Big storefront, mural on the side, worn paint out front, red picnic tables as well. Sad ambiance directly outside, trashy neighborhood, but solid food. Big dive bar inside, lots of tabletops. Weird leather fans, silent music & very alt music videos on the tube. More bar room devoted to mixed drinks than beer, but the chalkboard screams old school Belgians & locals. Quiet mix of trance/dance & whatever music Sort of n unhealthy obsession with The Smiths. Dead empty on a Thursday. Had a saison Dupont & a few other classics before moving on to a few interesting locals. Okay prices, cheap for the area, pour whatever size you want. Two bartenders on in the middle of a slow week. Very friendly, all about good beer. Spanish food was solid, borderline good. They're open till 2am & start to get busy around 10 once the breweries say goodnight. Great place.

Visited later in the evening on a Tuesday. Easy to find, parking around the side and back as well as on the street. Cool, mural painted front with a nice seating area in front of the bar. Inside, it is a dark, dive bar with tons of character. 35 or so beers on draft with more of a national focus. Well selected, bunch of great and rare beers on. Bunch of bottles and food available as well. Service was great, and the crowd was laid back and fun to hang out with. Fun place.

76 = ★★★ (Worth the visit, must for locals, and visitors with time)

I only use the total score, not the component parts.

Unique ambiance, large draft selection, nice bartenders, solid value on beer and liquor. Awesome place to hang out and have a few drinks.

Visited December 2012.

This looks kind of dumpy on the outside and there isn’t a ton of parking (we had to park across the street at the market). Inside it’s equally run down looking, more like unfinished. Looks can be deceiving though as the draft list was pretty good. They also have food, which was nice. The bartender offered samples which was very nice of him. They have this day of the dead theme going on which is neat I suppose.

One of Dallas’s top stops for on-premise consumption. Dank yet warm, Strangeways has the most eclectic list of beers available on tap in Dallas. I’ve not had their food but have had many great brews here over the last year and a half. Look for lots of Mikkeller that you won’t find elsewhere in the metroplex. Also give their bottle fridge a peek, as you may surprise yourself. Finally, if you get tired of beer, ask for Pappy van Winkle.

40 beers on tap! This place looks like a half-built garage, but it has character. This is a great place to hang out with friends and peruse the tap list.

Best selection I saw in Dallas and the bartenders know what they are doing. Good pricing and a large area with lots of interesting things to look at. Parking is easy... Did not try the food.

This is one of my "highly desirable" places to imbibe. Rough looking on the outside and nice a cozy on the inside. The staff is always super friendly and they keep a spectacular array of beers on tap.

Stopped in for a few beers after having dinner at the Meddlesome Moth. Kind of in a sketchy area. They sort of an industrial feel, but have a very nice patio. Kind of dive barish, but had a very solid tap selection for Texas. They were out of two beets I really wanted, but had plenty of other regional choices that kept me busy including a Mikkeller tap.Didn’t try any food and didnt really see anybody else eating either. Definitely worth a stop.
