| mar (60), Dallas, Texas | | April 26, 2012 can’t believe i haven’t reviewed this place, very nice bar, lights are not too dim. the patio is great, service is always great, servers are very knowledgeable. superb beer on tap all the time. the past few times that i’ve eaten here the food has been outstanding. | | BMan1113VR (279), Los Angeles, California | | April 26, 2012 [ Updated April 30, 2012 ] Another new (to me) Dallas beer spot that didn’t exist when I was around. Didn’t try the food or cocktails, but they looked pretty decent. Large bottle list. Friendly and knowledgeable staff and owners. Beer list was very good for Dallas, but sadly 10 of the 24 taps at the time were brewed in California and 17 of them are always available in CA (so not too many new choices for me). Prices were fair. Overall I’d stop by again. | | bootsjohn (13), Texas | | April 11, 2012 One of the best beer bars in the Dallas area. Well curated selection and great indoor/outdoor seating areas. Bartenders are knowledgeable and friendly, but other servers are inattentive, unfamiliar with constantly changing selection, and sometimes rude. Food is very good (better than the Moth’s IMO). Overall, my second favorite place in Dallas to grab a beer. | dyetube (6), McKinney, Texas does not count - explanation | | January 5, 2012 This by far my favorite place so I am a little biased. The beer selection is not like some other places (whichis why I rated that part lower) , but its really nice AND they have only high quality brews. The food here is phenomenal and never dissapoints! The bartenders are very nice and super helpful. Great place overall! Cheers! | | Swalden28 (41), McKinney, Texas | | November 21, 2011 Went here for the Mikkeller/Jester King Brewmasters Dinner. This place is a bit small but my kind of atmosphere. Great selection of beers and nice outdoor patio. Jeff that runs the bar here is a great guy, so say Hi to him....had some great brews and food while here, any craft beer lover should make a trip here. Would like to go out here more but I never like driving to Dallas. | | ilovedarkbeer (61), Abilene, Texas | | November 6, 2011 Went here before the LSU Bama game. Decent rotating tap list and solid bottle line up. Prices aren’t too bad and the food was just ok. I like the interior and location but the staff was mostly awkward retarded hipsters. | | blutt59 (121), Dallas, Texas | | October 14, 2011 good bar with most of the locally available bottle and draft selection, smalller more intimate than the Moth but most of the same selection, food looks good, with some nice upcoming beer dinners | | Mora2000 (51), Dallas, Texas | | July 31, 2011 Great little beer bar in the uptown area of Dallas. Not the most taps in town, but all taps are dedicated to great craft beer. Special deals on Tuesday nights and the bar occasionally has special events on Saturdays. Food is average to above average. One of the better spots in Dallas. | | SPDickerman (27), Texas | | July 9, 2011 Looks like an old house that was converted into a bar. Their selection is not necessarily that great, but they do have some rare beers (such as 2009 Boulevard Saison-Brett). Some of their beers are a bit over priced, but mostly the value is fair. They do have food, but I am not familiar with it. The Common Table surely is a nice place to sit and have a pint if you are downtown with some spare time. | tait (2), Dallas, Texas does not count - explanation | | April 24, 2011 The Common Table is an eclectic, slightly irreverant shine on fine brews coupled with incongruent food.
Delightfully similar to the Old Monk with it’s chalkboard and large selection of craft brews, The Common Table also throws in a delightful patio and an exceptional - although oddly chosen - group of menu items. I tried the Buffalo meatballs last time and they shocked me with the pleasant texture and balanced taste of the buffalo to cheese which paired very well with the hazelnut lager i was enjoying at the bar.
In addition, each trip to The Common Table has someone included a conversation with a stranger. Not sure why, but there’s a communal spirit at TCT (yeah, you know me) which brings people together quicker than I normally experience at other establishments.
If Corey (one of the two owners) is there, specifically request the Cottage Cheese - I won’t ruin the surprise here, but it’s a priceless yet inexpensive treat. Pair it with a Dogfish 90.
Do a beer flight. You won’t be sorry.
