1981jam (1), Flanders, New Jersey does not count - explanation | | October 17, 2008 When in Frankfurt area, try to come back here. Sparten, friendly place. Upstairs had beer coming up the dumb waiter, but not sure it is open anymore. Dunkel and weiss are the choices and the waiter will tick off your rounds on the Grohe coaster. Take a seat a strike up a converstation. | | Lubiere (349), Ottawa, Ontario | | November 25, 2007 This was my favorite place in gut-city. This is actually a mid-size brewery with a biergarten attached, right in the center of Darmstadt. The menu is small but cheap and delicious. I had the Schnitzel Flammkuche for 6 euros, the infamous Alsacian pizza with 2 big schnitzels on top. 2 regular beers plus a seasonal, super fresh. easy acces via the tramway and 10 minutes walk from Louisenplatz. Fills quickly so go early. | | fiulijn (273), Como, Italy | | June 17, 2007 The restaurant is next to to the brewery, where during office hours it’s possibIle to buy big quantities and refills. I was in the biergarten; they have a main indoor room that looks quite recent, and another indoor room that looks very old and dull. They may have at a time 1 or more beers available, when I was there (June 2007) only one on tap, but you can buy the 50cl bottles to take away. The food list is typical German, not extensive, but not bad anyway. It’s not the nicest brauhaus in the region, and the beers are not exciting too, so make a stop if you are in Darmstadt, but it’s not worth a detour. |
