DETN8R (1), VACAVILLE, California does not count - explanation | | April 30, 2012 So great to live so close to place like this. For those of us who love Craft brew, it doesn't get much better than this. | | Swillbur (24), Arizona | | February 28, 2012 Drove 50 miles one way to check this place out and it was WELL worth it. One of the BEST bottle shops i have walked into by FAR. Great beer selection and prices are right on for the most part. I was a little put of at first by the locals keeping a draft beer on the down low but then figured out is was a joke about the younger. Very cool place and will be back. | | thetmaxx (21), West Sacramento, California | | February 26, 2012 Went here because I’ve pretty much dried up the selection at Nugget in West Sac. Staff was really friendly. great selection of bottle beers, and beer on tap. Would love to stop in sometime and enjoy a brew. | DavisBeerLover (5), California does not count - explanation | | August 1, 2011 They have continually increased the selection of top quality beers that they carry (AleSmith being the most recent addition). There is almost always something great on tap! Not the largest tasting room, but the selection and OUTSTANDING service brings me back week after week. | | marcus (128), Sacramento, California | | July 19, 2011 This is a spacious beer store with a small bar and a few tables for enjoying bottled or draft beers on-site. There are eight taps dispensing some of the better craft and Belgian beers. The stock is mostly high quality beers from around the world. The owner is clearly trying to stock some hard to find beers, as I observed today’s incoming cases that included several semi-rare Mikkeller brews. A nice addition to the local scene. | hoppyhampy (1), , California does not count - explanation | | May 19, 2011 This is the best beer store in the area. I am in Sac and have pretty much worn out the selections at BevMo, Nugget, Whole Foods, Corti Bros., et. al. Made it out here for the first time and found stuff I have never seen before or only sen at Ledger’s Liquor in Berkeley or Total Wine in Roseville, both of which are farther away from Sacramento, and even a few that I have never seen before. Taps rotate daily as do tasting flights. A lot of the single bottles are priced lower than I’ve seen elsewhere and the six pack prices are competitive. Tap prices are lower than average, too. Tasting area is cozy (holds 50 people) and set up to appeal to everyone. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. You can buy a bottle and they will pour it for you to drink there for a buck. They keep it simple and I think the result is perfect. Do one thing and do it well. | | bhensonb (375), Woodland, California | | April 1, 2011 [ Updated October 20, 2011 ] 2nd Revision: They are getting really good and hard to find beers. Getting better all the time. Revision: They are getting some good and hard to find beers. Worth a trip evry week or so. This is getting to be a great place. Prior: Ok. Damning with faint praise. It has good beers, but few that are 95 or better. It has many beers, but for the area they are not rare. The really good point is that the taps have pretty good beers. However, you could go to the Co-Op for package brew, you could go to the Graduate for lots of good taps. The unique thing about this place is it’s right down town. To stand out it needs to get in some rarer beers. Agree with the first 2 sentences of DYCSoccer17’s review. | | DYCSoccer17 (244), Woodland, California | | March 26, 2011 [ Updated February 2, 2012 ] This place just opened about a week ago. This is like Davis’ answer to San Francisco’s City Beer Store, or Portland’s Belmont Station. With that in mind, this has a long ways to go before being in the same stratosphere of those places, but the idea is the same. 7-8 taps with interesting stuff that I have rarely ever seen on tap. They have a good selection of six packs and bombers in the coolers and on the shelves. The lighting in the back is low, which is smart. The prices are fair, and the selection offers a couple different beers than you can find at BevMo and the Co-Op. They have Avery and a few Belgian odd-balls. The staff here is friendly and great. The selection has expanded greatly in the past year, and the kegs move quickly, so you know you will get fresh beer. I love this place! |
