Hadn’t been here since I turned into a beer maniac. What everyone else said. They had Stone 9th on tap, along with a very rarely seen local Dunkelweiss Bock. The decor is big stone tables and benches along with a mix of more standard furniture. Overall impression is big, dark cave full of stuff. Very long bar. Will be returning regularly. Update. They have a ton of taps, and they are now into special beer events. And the staff is pretty attentive at the bar.

I always avoided this place due to its reputation as Davis’ definitive BroBar, but now I see how foolish I was. I read about their Stone tasting and upon going to their website discovered that they have 50 or so beer on tap, including Pliny the Elder (hard to find on tap in the Sac area), (though I missed it) Deschutes’ Abyss(!!!). But the best part is their happy hour: 3-6 M-F all beers on tap are $3.25 (and a decent 1/4 lb burger for $2.50, or 1/2lb for $5.00). They do a lot of events: Salsa nights, country nights, college nights - which don’t really interest me, but I will not miss their beer tastings (like the already mentioned Stone tasting, and soon a Dogfish Head and Shmaltz Brewing one). They have lots of different sports on, and a few fun games (though no darts!). Late night this place can be obnoxious as the younger college kids make their way out, but so it goes being across from an university. In summary - go to their happy hour, enjoy some great beers for cheap, get an pretty good burger, watch some sports, play some air hockey, and don’t let the crowd get you down.

Great selection of beer on tap, including Pliny. 2 bartenders, one knew about the beers on tap. The other didn’t know anything about them.
The only food I’ve had there is the wings (hot), they are some of the best wings I’ve had.
Lots of seating and TV’s.
One negative I found was that you could not combine the food and bar tab.

Like a big college sports/beer hall with cheap food, and cheap beer (all taps 3 dollars for happy hour) that just happens to include a great Norcal craft selection. Last time I was in, I had Pliny and Moylander, and noticed that they had nearly everything from Moylans and Marin on tap. The bartender was an ass, but the rest of the people seemed to be having better days. I wish we had a bar like this next to UCSB. I had to deal with a couple beers from Firestone and SN when I wanted to walk from my apartment to watch a game.

I can’t believe I haven’t rated this place!! One of the better beer bars in the Sacramento area. They have 50 taps and they rotated pretty quickly. Many of the taps are macro swill, but about 20 of them are devoted to craft beer. They have Pliny on at all times, and often have a few beers that you’d be surprised to see on tap. They have monthly beer events with a NorCal guest brewer (usually 3rd-4th Friday every month) and there are usually 6-7 beers from that brewer. Some of the bartenders are more knowledgeable than others. The food is decent. The bar is a sports bar by day and a country line dancing bar by night. During the weekends, the place is more family friendly with lots of little brats running around playing video games. Not the most relaxing place to have a beer, but the selection makes it worth it.
