| craftbeerdesign (92), Alpharetta, Georgia | | October 6, 2011 stopped in for lunch during GABF week. Inside is very dark and English pubish... they also have a outdoors patio which is really nice. tons of great beer - with many rarities during GABF week. you can get 3 4oz pours for $3 - good deal if you can’t decide. great food. | | onceblind (66), Denver, Colorado | | August 20, 2011 VERY nice place to visit. The staff is friendly and helpful, the beer is always quality, the selection is always plentiful, you can sample everyone for a fair price, though individual pints are a bit overpriced. Food is slightly overpriced, but very tasty all the same. Typical pub faire, but very good pub faire. Feels as British as American establishments can get; low ceilings, wooden beams, a cozy fireplace area, a tasteful patio, a long bar...but with lots of tvs and loud music. Needs to be quieter. But the souvenir area is a nice touch. | | ontbeermaker (127), Ontario | | July 29, 2011 Definitely one of the cooliest brewpubs I have been too. the food was good too. They had a lot of house beers on tap and I believe they had 1 or 2 guess beers, they had one from the breury I believe. Overall it was a really nice place. Would definitely be a regular if I was in the area. Might have made a regular out of my bro after stopping him in here. Really good stuff. Worth the stop, recommended. | | dionysus (10), Arizona | | June 3, 2011 Awesome little find on my recent trip through Denver. Typical authentic dark pub atmosphere (which I like) and friendly staff. The bull and bush beers are pretty solid but what blew me away was the vintage beer list. I ended up getting a 02 La Folie, and drooled on quite a few others. I’m definately going to have to try to get back here to explore the rest of the list and I would highly recommend it to anyone traveling in the area. (I’m surprised that nobody has mentioned the vintage beer list in their reviews which was the icing on my visit.... make sure you ask to see it because they don’t normally hand it out.) | gabfjunkies (6), does not count - explanation | | February 18, 2011 My rating might seem low as I don’t think this place is terrible.
However, the beers here don’t really do it for me that often. The food is terrible and the inside of the place is dark and dingy.
Despite that I do go back a few times a year and the staff is friendly for sure. | | adnielsen (277), Fort Collins, Colorado | | October 13, 2010 [ Updated October 22, 2010 ] Cool British-style pub near Cherry Creek with some above average beers. Definitely worth stopping by. | | Pawola22 (18), Chicago, Illinois | | March 1, 2010 Have been here twice now. Not a bad place, but the beer is kind of a let down. The waitress and bartender both did not seem too knowledgable about the beer either. The food was solid and they do have a large selection of whiskey and spirits. Lots of wood and a cool area around a fireplace, but its awfully dark in the bar area. They do have a nice beer sampler option at 3 for $3. All-in-all a decent place, but there are better options in Denver. | | JoeMcPhee (398), Toronto, ON, Ontario | | February 2, 2010 Our first stop on our recent Denver visit. Very (very) dark bar area with a central bar area surrounded by a larger table/booth seating area. I like dark as much as the next guy, but it’s almost lightless in here. Lots of dark wood and brass. The food was tasty and the portions huge. I enjoyed the burger on ciabatta bread in particular. Their Definitely worth stopping in. | | CH47 (14), Kansas | | October 11, 2009 Great old english pub, Dark rich mahogany wood look with dim lighting make me feel like bellying up and having a few. The food is excellent as six of us sat down and all ordered different meals we were all very pleased. I tried most of their beers and was happy to do so. They have an excellent whisky selection and a real dart board which are both a must for this style pub. | | notalush (256), Denver, Colorado | | June 18, 2009 [ Updated September 19, 2009 ] {Update - I’ve been here a couple of times since moving to Denver, and it has become one of my favorite brewpubs in the area - selection is nice - far superior to the first, apparently off day I was there - the food is quite good, despite how average the menu might look - 3 buck beers during the day on the weekends is draw for me - quality brews in a relaxed atmosphere - the 1000 televisions makes it a bit loud, but no big deal} Nice british style pub in a semi-suburban area of Denver - there is a covered patio if you don’t dig the dimly-lit pub vibe, though - a sort of ho-hum lineup of session beers on when I was there, but the IPA was delicious - standard pub grub menu - very attentive bartenders - the crowd was mostly well-to-do middle aged professionals, which, judging by the neighborhood, did not shock me - there was one drunk douche sitting close to me that kept running his mouth about Obama being a communist (and other Fox News style bullshit) the whole time I was there, which kind of ruined the atmosphere a bit, but the bar can hardly be blamed for that - anyway, I would probably come back here if I knew they had something special on tap, but I wouldn’t be a regular. |
