A Denver dive that became even more popular following a Man vs. Food episode. Unfortunately, this place does not live up to the hype, and the beer selection is weak. If you must stop here, consider yourself warned.

I love this place, my favorite place for burgers in Denver. They’re not really known for their beer selection but do have local brews. Atmosphere is that of a dive bar with a few expansions of the years. Been in just for a bite or to hang all night with friends. They’re always featured on TravelChannel and FoodNetwork, their burgers are really over the top, lots of crazy options. If you want the best burger in town and a beer stop here.

Hey, when did this get added to the site - anyway, despite the fact that this place is in the commercial hell that is Cherry Creek (god I hate this neighborhood), this is still my go-to place for a greasy, all-American hamburger - this place is always packed and a bit cramped as a result since they seem to squeeze just a few too many tables in to meet the demand - atmosphere is that of a dive bar turned family restaurant - owned by Wynkoop, so there are typically a few of their beers on tap, as well as a handful of local brews from GD, Avery, etc., but nothing you can’t get pretty much anywhere in town, so the Wynkoop beers are, sadly, probably your most interesting choice - the food, as stated, is greasy burgers - I like them, but they aren’t those trendy, gormet, pussied up burgers that are popular now - you want that, go to H Burger downtown - in short, this is not a place to come for beer, but it is a good spot if you’re in the mood for a straight up, no bullshit hamburger.

(Visited 10/2009): This place was high on the to-visit list in Denver not only because of the beers, but also due to being featured on Man Vs Food. The restaurant/bar is located in the "Cherry Creek" area southeast of the city. It is on 2nd avenue and there is street and garage parking nearby. It is also a short walk to the mall. The place was absolutely packed at 3pm on a Sunday. There are a few patio seats, and immediately inside the bar is on the left and there are tables opposite. There are also adjacent rooms with additional seating. The bar has a chalkboard listing all the beers, as does the other dining room. There are TVs around which lend to the cozy sports bar atmosphere. The beer list is pretty good. On draught there are around 15 brews from Odells, Great Divide, Wynkoop, Sierra Nevada and others. As for bottles there is a variety of regional microbrews from New Belgium, Stone, Boulder etc. A few imports are available too. Service was good despite how busy they were. Our server wasn’t a beer expert by any stretch but he was friendly and checked in on us frequently (but not too frequently). The Cricket Burgers we had were excellent, and as a bonus were on special on Sunday. Definitely top notch and worth the cab ride from downtown alone. All in all this place has earned it’s toursity-type status as a place to check out in Denver.
