| MiamiRedhawk (10), Downers Grove, Illinois | | January 31, 2012 Love this place, i was here back in december, its an easy walk to my house, only local spot with 3 floyds beers, Prices are pretty standard, place is a little small but its great for what i need, owners are great and staff is knowledgeable, i wish they had an email list i could get on. | | DrnkMcDermott (81), Downers Grove, Illinois | | October 5, 2010 Here’s a deli/convenience store settled in the ground floor of one of the overpriced yuppie condos near the train station. But surprise, they have a dynamite beer selection. First off, their little coffee bar also has two taps that has had different beers every time I’ve been there. Seems the folks at Windy Cities Distributing (Two Brothers) have gotten to them, and as a result, there is still NO BudMillerCoors anywhere in the store. That may change based on demand, I just saw them start to carry Corona. But on tap, I had Tyranena Down Dirty Chocolate Oatmeal Stout, while the other tap was running North Coast Red Ale. Alpha King was running at their grand opening, and we know how it is to find that these days. Seems as soon as one keg blows, they’re putting in a totally different beer. Everything was served in a shaker glass, but I’ll let that go since the bar is so tiny. Drafts were $5 each, half-price on Mondays. Also a large cooler display and shelf display full of craft and import beers, in fact, there was an empty space where Two Brothers is normally displayed, so they are doing pretty well right now. In the months to come they may bow to demand and starting running Lite, but for now this is worth hopping off the BNSF, grabbing one and getting on the next train. |
