A splendid location on the bridge with lovely views and a lovely beer garden by the riverside. The usual Sam Smiths beers are on offer at the usual excellent prices.

Tends to be a meet up place when we arrange to go out in Durham. Itís omly by reading other reviews that I appreciate the location. We tend to take Durham for granted, but it is a fine, picturesqe little city. This pub has always been busy when Iíve been in which is usually early evening. Some of the Hooray Henry students can be a pain. Usual Sam Smiths selections.

Quick stop for a cask bitter on a hot sunny day. They've got lots of wooden benches with partial river view. Nice place in a pleasant town.

In a perfect location overlooking the river Wear with the centre of Durham looking down on this pub, this Sam Smiths outlet is a fine place for a drink, although actually getting a place on the veranda when the weather is good is a difficult task. Inside it is a multi-room affair and there is no shortage of people in any of them given the prices. The usual Sam Smiths selection apples.

Good selection of all the usual Sam Smiths fare, but having a quiet drink with friends overlooking the Medieval Elvet Bridge on a summerís evening really canít be beat.

The patio in the summer is a great place to have your sam smith ales. Stopped in with Dave Bell after a brief visit to Durham in the summer of 2010.
