Of the WF branches in the Triangle, the one closest to JCB manor is alas by far the least of them. And that’s not just in terms of beer, to indulge in a necessary aside. One of the most cramped interiors and fucked parking lots on this side of town. Seriously, both Raleigh and CH have remodeled majestically. Let’s do this, City of Medicine. Anyways, the beer selection is average and has gone downhill in the last 4 years (used to have a knowledgeable beer guy, who’s since moved on). A smattering of local growlers, a competent array of New Belgium, Stone, Lagunitas, and the like, and a sprinkling of Belgians in 750s and Harviestoun. If you want something, there’ll be something decent to get. But seriously, Sam’s is right across the street.

Like every other whole foods in the area, a pretty solid selection of local craft and imports. Some big bottles you don’t see in other shops as well as some WFM contract brews on occasion.

I’ve stopped in here a few times but with Sams Blue Light right down the street its sort of an exercise in futility. They may have 1 or 2 things that Sams doesnt but not necessarily things I want....Still they have more than your local grocery store and such.

A few decent selections, but with Sam’s Quick Shop a block away, don’t even bother.

Whole Foods, aka. Whole Paycheck. Very expensive compared to other grocery stores, but you get what you pay for. Everyone knows Whole Foods. Great quality gourmet foods for a hefty price. Like most Whole Foods, great wine selection. But when it comes to beer, I don’t see any reason to go there. Even Kroger has a bigger selection. (My selection rating applies only to beer in this store, since this is ratebeer.com, after all =)

A typical Whole Foods. The selection of beer is better at the Chapel Hill location but still good for locals. Sams Blue Light is within .25 mile...
