Traditional type of pub in the city centre again fitted out ornately, with lovely plasterwork, mahogony and a big island bar. Beers from Scottish micro brewers to the fore, like its sister pub, The Guildford. Eating appears to be upstairs. Decent pub.

Visited this pub on the Great Graig Pubcrawl Tour 23/4-2012. A traditionel city center pub, with a large bar in the middle of the pub, and tables around at the walls. I think this place more is a drinking pub, but it´s possible have traditionel pub food here. There are 5 cask pumps with a good range of UK beers. Friendly staff, nice deko and on the day I visited there was a lot of seniors, so I felt a bit young :-)

4 casks. Very busy Thu night 7pm. Nice historic interior. Reasonable prices. Nice location on Rose Street.

Lively city-centre pub with a fair selection of ales and a good buzz about it. Arguably the pick of the Rose Street bars. Rapid turnover ensures the ales are fresh.

Visited 7/6/2011. Attractive pub with tiled ceiling and island bar. Had five Scottish ales on when I visited and a friendly atmosphere. Well worth a visit.

Traditional Scotish bar with 5 well cared for interesting real ales on tap. Helpful service, pleasant atmosphere in a good location close to Waverley station. Worth a visit.

Very nice bar, with a warm and friendly vibe. Same ppl that own the Guildford, and not far from it so worth a visit for sure. They have a separate restaurant session upstairs. Had some quality taps when we were there, and in good condition. Good place for a session.

Nice old victorian type bar with a big rectangular bar. Nice restaurant upstairs, but we dined in the pub and the food was good. Large selection of whisky and a handful of real ales. Nice place but not a real beer destination. Service was very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful.

Nice but crowded place especially at lunch time. Didn’t eat but the food looked good. 5 cask beers of which I drank Killellan and Sheepshaggers Gold. Reasonable prices.

Nice pub, with a fairly static range of 15-20 cottish ales cycling over there 5 taps... decent quality and good if your not a regular drinker of scottish beers.
