Cozy enough, quite small bar, but still room on an early Saturday evening. The beer was not in top form, though, so no need to go out of the way for this.

Honestly, the staff was disinterested and the beers were in awful condition. I really didn’t like this place much at all, not in the Edinburgh top twenty, despite the guest beers (no point in bringing them in then serving them full of sour and butter).

Traditional Scottish bar with 8 handpumps selling well cared for interesting ales. Good service. A bit expensive. Annoying country music.

Cosy and welcoming pub on a rainy and cold windy afternoon in Edinburgh. Open fireplace. Decent food, I had a well made gammon steak. Lshaped bar in splendid pub surroundings. Eight handpumps including one with cider. Can be a very relaxing drinking place early in the afternoon, but gets quite busy in the evenings. Visited several times in October and November 2008.

Visited with the RBESG 2007 crowd. Nice pub, friendly bar staff. Decent real ales. I got a half pint for free, as it was near the end of the barrel, but the beer still tasted good! Did not eat.

A beutifully decorated pub with huge mirrors, tiles on the walls and a beutiful cealing. 8 beers on cask and some bottles available. No new beers for me, that I didn’t already try.

I liked this place. Good food and a nice selection of scottish and english cask ales in good condition.

Stunning interior. There are three very large pub mirrors, and beautiful decorative tiling on the lower half of the walls. 7 casks - nothing unusual, but all solid stuff. The beer range, the character, the atmosphere, the uniqueness of the place, and the veggie haggis lift this above the ordinary. It’s a must visit place. Not for scooping, just for enjoying.

RBESG07 and oither times. A pritty standard selection of ales for Edinburgh, though more taps than most places. If your in Edinburgh and in serch of places defo somewhere to come.
