onkelgobber (8), Edinburgh, does not count - explanation | | May 20, 2012 Fantastic original pub in the center of Edinburgh. Well worth visiting for whisky and beer. The whisky selection is second to none and the beers on tap are interesting and varied. The staff is friendly and knowledable. The room is a bit battered but that also adds to the charm. Not much seating but usually room for everyone. No food. | | Maverick34 (32), New York | | May 7, 2012 Fantastic bar to go to for real ale in Edinboro. Old school, great selection, tourists and regulars. Go when you’re there. | | Brugmansia (32), Jylland, Denmark | | April 26, 2012 Visited this pub on the Great Graig Pubcrawl Tour 23/4-2012.
A small traditionel pub in the area of the castle. Very coisy, and friendly place with great staff, they know their stuff of the beers. Can at times be a bit crowded, and have few seatings with small tables. They serve great pies for lunch. Besides they have a bottle selection as well and a huge whiskey selection. | | imdownthepub (164), Banbury, England | | April 25, 2012 Traditional bar close to the tourist masses, it was packed both times we visited. Seemed to be a reasonable choice but it was hard to get to the bar. The beers were in decent nick, the ambiance is friendly. Really is worth a visit. | | worldbeertaste (46), , England | | April 19, 2012 They have a strange way of pouring their beers. Pressuried cask. Beer tastes great. Staff is super friendly and knows what they are talking about. The atmosphere is ok. Its not your atypical pub but the bottle selection is top notch. Would reccomend it. | | rosenbergh (275), Helsinki, Finland | | March 2, 2012 8 casks. Lots of bottles. Cozy small pub. Reasonable prices. Nice location. Friendly service. I guess that’s all and that’s also what it takes. | | mark1969 (21), edinburgh, Scotland | | February 1, 2012 Excellent real bar . The staff knows there product . Also very passionate beer and good service . Overall a place to be for good beer . | | AshtonMcCobb (52), Edinburgh, Scotland | | February 1, 2012 Lovely old pub in the middle of Edinburgh’s home town. The speciality is cask ale and some Scottish and international bottles. They seem to have summer and winter beer festivals and seem to get beers that other bars don’t. Would highly recommend it, though steak pie was a bit small. | | Benio (13), , | | January 16, 2012 great bar, great beer on tap | | Dr_Butty (11), , Scotland | | January 1, 2012 Another of Edinburgh’s miracle of miniaturisation bars. A good ever changing selection of real ales. Not many places to sit and can become rammed with suits, but never an unpleasant place to drink, even when full. When quiet it’s a splendid hideaway for a pint in Scotland’s capital. |
