| mark1969 (21), edinburgh, Scotland | | January 16, 2012 very relaxing environment. the real ale was average .the food is good . | | JohnRMurdoch (208), Glasgow, Scotland | | August 22, 2011 Large traditional street corner bar across the road from Haymarket Station. 12 handpumps (2 duplicated ales, one not in use) Interesting selection. Quiet relaxed atmosphere. Worth a visit. | | AshtonMcCobb (52), Edinburgh, Scotland | | July 19, 2011 A re-vamped bar now boasting around double figures of cask ales. It’s a more pleasant place to hang out. No idea about food yet - food was good enough previously. Despite the fact that they have a lot of taps, the quality of the average ale is not up with Edinburgh’s long established ale pubs, such as the Bow Bar or Cloisters. But overall, a good improvement. | BeerCast_Rich (8), Edinburgh, Scotland does not count - explanation | | July 8, 2011 Relaunched July 2011 as a Nicholson’s pub – gone are the questionable décor and drinkers, atmosphere is much better. M&B beer selection, so some decent rotating guests – changes every season, so 20 for summer, 25 for autumn. Deuchars and Caley 80/- as permanent. They do serve food, but we haven’t yet tried it. A big improvement on the old Haymarket – looks nicer, better beer and a better pub. |
