Constantly busy, service is slow even by Spoons standards. Large number of taps but most tend to be duplicates. Cask beer is often kept poorly.

The main entrance to this large Wetherspoon in a grand hall room is from George Street, but there’s an entrance accessed from the pedestrian Rose Street where there’s many a bar to be found. The bar occupies one length of the fine main hall which is split level to allow some tables to be placed in here. The main area in front of the bar gets really busy on some evenings and it does get full of groups standing just across from service area. There’s plenty of seating to be found in the smaller room areas out of the main hall. They were showing English Championship football on the big screen the last time I was in here.

Large Weatherspoons in central Edinburgh, with an entrance just off Rose Street. Impressively large room with high ceilings. Lots of tables, chairs and TV screens. Usual JDW range of beers, cheap prices & food and regular beer festivals.

Typical Spoons in an absolutely huge old bank building. This plus it being packed to the brim on a Saturday evening and the staff walking around in Rocky Horror-themed apparel raised a bit of an eyebrow upon entrance. 15 casks, very cheap.

Large JDW backing on to Rose Street quite close to The Sir Alexander Graham Bell. Large selection of reasonably interesting beers. Very busy but there are very few staff so the service is very poor.

Visited this pub on the Great Graig Pubcrawl Tour 23/4-2012. One of the larges pubs I ever have visited in UK. A traditionel JDW pub, great deko. There is one big room and several smaller ones. They have a great number of taps, the food is the traditionel JDW menu. Friendly staff.
