Easy to see why this is a regular CAMRA award winner, good selection of cask from Scottish and North English micros, couple of interesting guest craft keg as well.

(Visited on Sunday 21/02/2016 Ė early evening) was pretty busy here on my visit but still managed to get served pretty quickly and find a small table. Only stayed for the one cask ale I was after, but was in good condition, staff friendly and helpful, looked like a very good selection and wish I had the time to stay longer, will definitely revisit on next trip over.

A really good pub to have as a local haunt . Nice range of cask ales. Good looking food. Gentle vibe. Has the feel of a well-run pub with a sense of what it is doing. Not basic at all.

With six cask plus a small amount of interesting keg, the Stockbridge Tap is an excellent place to spend some time if in the area. Itís got a fairly sparse layout with wooden flooring, chairs and tables, with piped music kept low in the background. This is clearly a pub that loves beer, and even though it canít compete with some of the craft pubs which are smack bang in the city centre on quantity, the quality is superb.

Like its sister pubs Bow Bar and Cloisters, reasonable selection of well priced beer. Good service, helpful staff. Also runs occasional beer festivals.

Basic boozer with cask ales in good condition. Visited on Sunday afternoon: 26th Oct 2014. Friendly staff, North American. Comfy furniture around the back, not much in and around the actual bar area. Big window at the front, not a lot else to add really: no nonsense place where the beer is the major selling point, there is food available but we didnít have any.

About a quarter hours walk from the city centre. Rather spacious pub, though with only a few tables to sit at and a slightly sterile atmosphere. Good selection of regional Scottish cask ales and friendly service.

Okay ambiance but I felt - apart from the bar area itself - that it seemed too modern to feel like "an old pub". I also didnít feel I was being served fast enough, sorry...but the staff was busy talking among themselves (and it was "just" a lazy afternoon). Okay selection of beers, but a bit off the "normal circuit" (or, in the wrong direction, for me anyway). Wouldnít mind going there again, though.
