| musik103 (11), Dunstable, England | | February 25, 2012 Excellent selection of beers but in dire need of refurbishment (or at least it was when we there in Jul 2011). The toilets stank and even in the bar the smell was that of a bar cleaned with a dirty mop. Perhaps easier to ignore when it’s busier but the place was tatty when we were there. | IndividualNo6 (1), , does not count - explanation | | January 22, 2012 My only problem with The Brauhaus is the constant sport (usually football) on the TV, I find it distracting and unpleasant but I realize I’m in a minority on that one. | | JohnRMurdoch (208), Glasgow, Scotland | | January 3, 2012 [ Updated May 21, 2012 ] Small corner bar with an amazing beer menu. Lots of interesting ales from all over the world. Multiple large screen TVs so you can choose which match to watch. Close to Nina’s Mini Market & Cloisters. One of the best beer venues in Edinburgh. | | Benio (13), , | | December 19, 2011 [ Updated March 28, 2012 ] huge selection of beers ! Every style of beer you know they stock. This bar gets extremely busy and the place itself is small but if you come on a reasonably quiet night or day its a really enjoyable bar. Great staff too! | | MalcolmTucker (14), , Scotland | | December 19, 2011 A small bar that has a very large selection of beers that are generally not available anywhere else in Edinburgh. German and Belgium beers make up the majority of the beers but there is also a decent selcetion of beers from further afield such as Mikkeller. | | Neilinblack (10), , Scotland | | December 16, 2011 Superb bar - best selection of beers - staff a very knowlegeable about them, football from around the world on TV - what more could you want !! | | AshtonMcCobb (52), Edinburgh, Scotland | | December 15, 2011 This bar has a good atmosphere and is mainly a student hang-out but with a reasonable mix. The place is a little cramped but that makes it cosy. The service is friendly and personable. The selection is vast, the best selection of Belgian and German beers in a bar in Scotland - recently this has expanded to include some of the more upcoming internaional breweries alsp. It has the best value for a fine beer bar in Edinburgh and overall, this is a bar that should be visited. | | dantheman278 (13), , Scotland | | December 14, 2011 Selection much improved recently, I still like to pop in here every now and then for new Belgian stuff, the occasional Mikkeller/De Molen bottle etc. Draught selection is standard international fare - but the recent Tempest guest kegs have been a welcome surprise. Football not a massive advantage for me but it’s a good way of dragging the flatmates along for some decent beer! Not yet up there with Cloisters, Bow, BrewDog but there’s lots of potential, definitely one to watch! | | mark1969 (21), edinburgh, Scotland | | December 8, 2011 [ Updated January 17, 2012 ] great value, the best selection of beers edinburgh . small bar with great staff. that know there product with passion . | Gingerbrew (4), Edinburgh, Scotland does not count - explanation | | December 8, 2011 [ Updated December 9, 2011 ] Great wee bar, small space but the best selection of bottled beers I have seen in a single place, 419 at the last count! Fantastic place for wheat beer, Trappists, Lambics, American craft ales, Scottish beers and they listen when you have a suggestion that they do not stock. The friendly staff know their beer and are happy to make recommendations and answer questions. It can get very busy on the weekends or when they are showing European football(they have three screens) so get there early. From Wednesday through the weekend they also stock pretzels and other German breads from local baker falko & condermiester, highly reccomended! |
