Very comfortable interior and nice atmosphere at this place. Extensive craft beer selection for Edmonton, which is sadly not saying much when compared to BC, but it seems to be picking up. Service was very friendly on my visit, despite some of the complaints in other reviews. Prices are very steep - $14 for 4-beer taster, and $8-9 for 16 oz. pours of many of the rotational beers! WTF? Didnít try the food. Definitely worth hitting up when in town - just donít expect anything crazy on tap despite the volume of taps.

Located in the basement of a downtown building hence the name Underground. Entering requires a trip down a narrow escalator. Upon entering the space is dimly lit and inviting. Beer selection is outstanding and food is quite good. Service has been pretty good on those few times I have visited this place.

Winner of the 2013 Chuggy Award for Best Beer Bar in #yeg.
Quaint, cozy little taproom, right downtown, good tap list, awesome beer geek rotationals, and the food and service are certainly up to par.

Excellent craft beer bar in Edmonton. Staff is very knowledgeable especially the manager. They do casks and tap takeovers on a regular basis. Food is decent and they have everyday food specials that are good and beer specials. Semi-regular.

Great selection of beer given what else is available downtown Edmonton. Iíve visited for meals and beers over 10 times. The service was quite good for a bit and then fell off dramatically. The last 3 visits have had the worst service I have seen recently (given they were not busy at all). They need to step that up.
Beer selection is great and they pour it properly. They are leading the charge in craft beer downtown. Food has been good in my experience.
UPDATE: Due to my review I was contacted and apologized to for the service in my recent visits. I respect that and feel I should add it to this review. Based on what was said I believe the establishment is committed to good service but struggling with staff (same as anywhere).

This is a nice relaxed place to go and have a pint, or take someone who hasnít really tried any craft brewed beers before. I love the selection, and the staff are friendly and personable. The service leaves quite a lot to be desired with regards to promptness and staying on top of things, but I am willing to chalk it up to growing pains for now. The rotational list is extensive, and someone is making sure the good stuff gets on it!

Currently the largest craft beer tap room in Edmonton. Still new and getting a handle on what they are doing so I am allowing some leeway. Unfortunately service is horrible at best, but I will give them the opportunity to wow me again in 6 months. Beer is hit or miss, they donít have a good plan yet, sometimes it is great other times it is pedestrian. It is a very comfortable pub, with nice seating and quiet atmosphere.

If youíve been to Three Boars in the summer this should definitely be your winter destination because there is room enough to where you can actually get into the establishment and move around. The bar is nestled underneath an old treasury building in the heart of downtown edmonton right on the LRT Central station so it is incredibly easy to get to. They have over 72 beers on tap, and they seem to be able to keep them in stock. In addition to their taps, they also have some great bottles hidden under their bar (i.e. Ommegangís Abbey Ale). The ambiance is great, the music is not overbearing. Even though there are some flat screens this is not a sports bar. Iíve been there when it has been a light day and as well as on a busy night, the service is excellant. Most of the bartenders and servers are actually quite versed in the beers they are selling which canít be said of some of the other tap houses in the area. Also, they allow you a fair amount of tasters to determine what pint you want to have the first time around. The food is good, I think they are making their way towards a decent pairing menu. If you are a beer enthusiast and youíve always wanted to take your friends some place to try a new or a different pint, this is the place. Whether you live in the downtown area or you are just visiting, this place is work a stop if you love beer.
